Living with Less is Living with More: Co-Creating a New Story A New Relationship with Earth and her Creatures
Our hearts and intuition contain the answer to co-creating this new story. A story in which we are not clumsily or hurriedly passing through, busying ourselves and not-wasting-any-time in our stress-filled harried lives.

“Can you imagine a more beautiful world your hearts knows is possible?

We have inherited a culture without any critical inquiry.”

Leo Murray talks of the need to decouple the relationship between standards of living and quality of life.

Niki Harré talks in this video about the Psychology and the Infinite Game In it she describes the distinction between the Finite and Infinite Games.

The purpose of the infinite game is to continue the game.

The purpose of the finite game is to win.

The infinite game invites others in and is full of creativity, the rules continually change and all are flexible in their interactions.

The finite game includes only select people, it is all about replication and does not bend. In life, the finite game winnings are such as getting a trophy, owning property, getting a degree, a promotion, publishing an article, get funded for a program.

She talks of the amazing power of symbol and metaphor. And that in order to keep the infinite game in play, we need to trust people and promote creativity. It’s up to all of us to bring this awareness into our workplace, schools and communities.

Is increased Frequency of Autism linked to increased EM Frequencies of Cellular Phone Technology?

I wrote this blog a month ago, and just discovered May 28 this article published 2 weeks ago. It does not make the connection of the increasing power of cellular phone technology to autism; nevertheless, the 230 scientists are appealing to the World Health Organization (WHO) to call out the cell phone industry, calling 5G hazardousScientists Appeal that 5G Wireless is as Hazardous as Asbestos

In early April I was reading about John Robbins (Baskin & Robbins ice cream) and his unique history of fortune and misfortune, when I learned that his son Ocean has twins each diagnosed with autism. A flash of insight prompted me to google ‘autism connection with wifi or cellular frequencies’. This 2015 article appeared, The Emerging Link between Wireless and Autism. I have had only peripheral knowledge of the autism spectrum disorder. Wikipedia states that “Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by difficulties with social interaction and communication and by restricted and repetitive behavior.” It states that autism is associated with a combination of genetic and environmental factors, with no mention among the long list of potential causes of any association with the effects of EMF’s from wireless electromagnetic radiation. I posted the link, mentioning that one would have to view the statistics worldwide to assess whether there’s a correspondence between cases of autism and populations living in the proximity of cellular communications infrastructure and who have a higher use of electronic devices. Autism: Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatments “Autism spectrum disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects a person’s ability to communicate, interact and behave appropriately with others in social situations. It is characterized by impairments in social skills, communication and restricted and repetitive behavior.”

Autism Rates Around The World  updated 2018, the article goes into detail with respect to reports of Autism in 10 different countries.

It was a hunch. For all I knew, Autism was a peculiarly American phenomenon. The United States has a propensity to diagnose and pathologize ‘dis ease’. A half century ago, medical practices were made up of doctors with private practices. This almost seems to be a ghost of the past, as the healthcare industry has stepped in. The Healthcare and pharmaceutical industries appear to be intimately tied. That is, Big Pharma applies its business marketing to the public directly, by infiltrating print and air waves with advertising. And at the same time, it extends its tentacles into the medical industry by luring doctors in hospitals and group practices with gifts and enticements (dinners, conferences in exotic places) to sell their products. That’s sort of how the opiate addiction was unleashed and silently allowed to continue unconstrained. In the USA, large industries sort of overstep well, everyone else. They squeeze out smaller businesses or gobble them up. And they lobby and line the government’s coffers, who subsequently remain in abject silence. There are no rangers or anti-trust laws to keep them from becoming more and more powerful. Whose to stop them? In the case of Big Pharma, they treat symptoms with pharmaceuticals, rather than giving attention to the holistic, wider context, as one would think would be the medical intention and approach. The Healthcare industry and Pharma are each incentivized to make a profit, rather than to approach health and wellness proactively; with attention to nutrition, exercise and the wider context. They are not focused on wellness, but on selling their product. And rather than educating the public towards maintaining wellness, they advertise their products and cram into small print & speeded up talking, all of the potential ‘side-effects’ and negative repercussions of their chemical products. Their emphasis is on sales. I digress, yet the paradigm is the same.

The telecommunication industry leaders may be facilitating the same lack of disclosure, in order to maintain their bottom lines. Not interested in pointing out potentially negative repercussions of their wireless cellular systems, they are more motivated to implement their plans, to ensure that the public is completely ensnared in their system by convincing them that faster and more powerful communication is without exception, what the public wants and needs. I display the various edifices and fortresses of the cellular telecommunication industry leaders, to demonstrate their opulent wealth.

I almost felt a physical impact when I read that autism is huge in South Korea and Asia. I remember learning  a decade or two ago (to my surprise) that various Asian countries were much more sophisticated in their cell phone technology infrastructures than the United States.

Tech-savvy South Korea has nearly as many cell phones as people. A 2009 article! “There were 45.6 million mobile phone subscribers in South Korea in December in a country with a population of 48.6 million, Sung Suk-ham of the Korea Communications Commission said.”

Although autism spectrum conditions (ASCs) are defined behaviorally, they also involve multileveled disturbances of underlying biology that find striking parallels in the physiological impacts of electromagnetic frequency and radiofrequency exposures (EMF/RFR). With dramatic increases in reported ASCs that are coincident in time with the deployment of wireless technologies, we need aggressive investigation of potential ASC – EMF/RFR links. ”

The Japanese mobile phone industry is one of the most advanced in the world. A study in Japan controlled for the factor of vaccinations, and yet Autism rises despite MMR ban in Japan Is it a coincidence?

“In Asia, the number of children registered as autistic is significantly higher in urban areas than rural. We don’t know if that is due to a lack of awareness of the option to seek services, or if, for environmental reasons, there truly are less autistic children in rural areas.” Could this infer that where there are less cell phone towers and cellular phone use, there are less cases of autism?

National research studies indicate that Japan and other developed Asian countries have the highest rates of autism.

As you can see above, Hong Kong is almost ‘off the charts’ in terms of its Autism epidemic.

John Herman explains You live your life at 2.4 GHz in Wired that, “Most household items operate at 2.4 GHz. Your house or apartment, or the coffee shop you’re sitting in now, is saturated with radio waves. Inconceivable numbers of them, in fact, vibrating forth from radio stations, TV stations, cellular towers, and the universe itself, into the space you inhabit. Inside your home are a dozen tiny little radio stations: your router, internet, bluetooth, garagedoor opener, cordless phone – household items – all run on 2.4 GHz.”

map cell phone towers geoawesome

There are different frequencies for different purposes. For example, an AM/FM radio has a different frequency than satellite radio. In the same way, the frequencies of a cellular phone are different from Wi-Fi, and from Bluetooth. All cellular phone networks worldwide, use part of the radio frequency spectrum designated as UHF (Ultra-High Frequency) for the transmission and reception of signals. They are not radio signals in terms of being able to, or accidentally picking up on, a music station. This neatly shows distinctions, What is the difference between Wi-Fi and Cellular connections?

Do I Need to Worry About Radiation From WiFi and Bluetooth Devices? “The radiation from Bluetooth and WiFi devices falls into the same basic range on the electromagnetic spectrum—between FM radios and microwave ovens—as the RF waves from cell phones. But because the distances traveled by WiFi and Bluetooth signals tend to be much shorter (between your router and your laptop, for instance, or your smartphone and your wireless speaker) the RF can be transmitted at a much lower power than from a cell phone.

Since I use a computer laptop to write, create and communicate, often in spaces connected via WiFi, not by a cable, I wanted to familiarize myself with the distinction between WiFi and cellular networks. Understanding the Difference between WiFi, 3G and 4G “WiFi is the nickname for a wireless internet connection. WiFi technology provides wireless Internet access via the use of radio waves which transmit a signal to a wireless enabled device, equipped with a wireless network card that communicates with the wireless router. The radio waves operate on a frequency of 2.4 GHz and operate on a standard which is set forth by the IEEE which is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.”

Wireless LAN (WLAN) LAN (Local Access Network) by definition, implies a shorter distance traveled by WiFi and Bluetooth signals, typically not reaching further than 100 feet. This introductory video Mobile Internet Basics: What is the Difference Between Wi-Fi and Cellular? explains that cellular networks have continued to evolve in strength to accommodate the demand for a faster flow of information.

Cell Phone mega Tower, HAARP, Michael Winter

Cell Phone mega Tower HAARP Michael Winter

Cell phone technology has gone from 1G, to 2G, 3G and now 4G (G for generation). What is the difference between 2G, 3G and 4G mobiles as well as networks? “In a nutshell > SPEED.” Each are more powerful than the predecessor. Thing is, the cell phone broadcast towers have a much wider range than WiFi and are sending out much more powerful transmissions from their source.

Michael Winter states in Cell Phones – Cell Towers – Haarp. An EMF Triple Threat “The measurement of a cell phone’s power is defined by Hertz. A hertz is a unit defining the frequency of an electromagnetic wave.”

“Human beings operate at 10 hertz. 100 hertz equal 1 kilohertz. 100 kilohertz equal 1 megahertz. The average EMF emitted by cell phones is 1900 megahertz, with a market shift toward (currently in use) 2500 megahertz phones.”

“Cell towers operate in Watts. A watt is a standard definition of a unit of power. a normal, round incandescent light bulb uses 40 to 100 watts, fluorescent bulbs produce the same amount of light using only five to 30 watts. A WiFi signal from any standard router is 20 milliwatts. A standard cell phone transmits 300 milliwatts. Consider also that radio station WLS in Chicago pumps out a formerly impressive 50,000 watts, and can be picked up over a 1000 miles away with a middling quality radio receiver. The average cell tower in the USA pumps out between 100,000 to 500,000 watts. The writer of this article questions why the towers are so enormously powerful.”

Essentially, we are being saturated 24/7 with many, many thousands times stronger radiation fields than our body is equipped to deal with. Our failure to deal with this onslaught is manifesting in the form of stress and sleep disorders, birth defects, cancer and Alzheimer’s. We are being silently culled, and footing the bill to make it happen! By paying your cell bill, you simply ensure the continuity of a product that is killing, and will kill, millions and millions of people.”

Published 2007 Wi-Fi linked to Childhood Autism cites a study published in the Australasian Journal of Clinical Environmental Medicine warning that wireless communication technology may be responsible for accelerating the rise in autism among children. “Autism is a disabling neuro-developmental disorder.” It is associated with heavy-metal toxicity. “An expert on the dangers of electromagnetic radiation (EMR):

Dr George Carlo headed the world’s largest research program on mobile phone health hazards in the 1990’s which revealed the autism-wireless technology connection following a series of tests on autistic children monitored during 2005 and 2006.

Electromagnetic Safety and Cell Tower Health Effects, states that “The Federal regulations ignore the hundreds of studies that find harmful bio-effects from long-term exposure to non-thermal levels of cell phone radiation.”

In 2012, guest scientific blogger, Emily Willingham wrote, Is Autism an “Epidemic” or Are We Just Noticing More People Who Have It?, that perhaps it’s more a question of how it is diagnosed. There are factors influencing a country’s reporting, such as lack of disclosure due to it being stigmatized, or less sophisticated means of doing statistical analysis. She cites, “In 1951, Kanner wrote, the “great question” became whether or not to continue to roll autism into schizophrenia diagnoses, where it had been previously tucked away, or to consider it as a separate entity.” In 2018, Racheal Rettner sort of downplayed the role of Autism What’s Behind the Recent Rise in Autism in the US? “saying that the more it’s recognized, the more it is diagnosed.” And in 2017 Tom Chivers highlighted the fact that A Paper Claiming Wi-Fi Is Linked To Autism Has Been Accused Of Pseudoscience “Published in the respected journal Child Development, by Cindy Sage and Ernesto Burgio, titled “Electromagnetic Fields, Pulsed Radiofrequency Radiation, and Epigenetics: How Wireless Technologies May Affect Childhood Development.” was completely attacked and dismissed.

Certainly some articles published reflect a bias towards downplaying the extent of Autism, whereas others are quickly silenced. It depends on who’s paying the writers. Follow the money, as the saying goes. Nevertheless, the last few decades of spikes in Autism around the world are not random cases of schizophrenia.

Seems the increased frequency of Autism correlates worldwide with exposure to increased EM frequencies from Cellular Phone Technology – which keeps getting stronger, or so the Telecom Giants promise us.

It was a hunch, that prompted an intuition fueled search.

Verizon, AT&T Reveal Additional 5G Launch (2018) Markets “This is part of densifying the network and positioning it to excel at 5G.”

From a business insider’s perspective, this article Cell Phone Networks and Frequencies Explained: 5 Things To Know mentions that the four major networks in the U.S. are Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. 4G is often up to 10x faster than 3G — with speeds commonly between 20Mbps and 50Mbps (which is really fast). The United States is broadly covered by both 3G and 4G LTE technology. The next generation cellular network-5G-promises speeds between 10 and 100 times faster than 4G LTE.

Why? Do we need to encase our minds and focus our attention in a virtual world, as we continue to maim and disfigure this one?

The Answer: don’t let the cell phone provider companies whose towering glass edifices in every major city, like Oz, shiny and powerful, dictate an infrastructure mania to have ever faster and more powerful waves for your convenience and your purse – as you continue to pay them for each new model and upgrade. Perhaps what is lethal beneath their shiny, buildings and the shiny devices, is that their ultimate goal is to maintain their profits and control.

Perhaps as tobacco companies concealed the dangers of smoking cigarettes, and that among other companies, General Motor’s intention was to dismantle the infrastructure of street cars & train transportation in the USA to make room for the tire and automotive industries, and that for 40 years the petroleum giants have known indisputably the hazards of burning fossil fuels, kept that information from the public, the association of autism with cell phone technology is not spoken about. I wonder if the CEO’s of the various cellular companies dominating the international market, have cell towers right next to their multimillion dollar homes? I doubt it. Someone already did the groundwork. He looked at maps of cellphone towers in metropolitan areas, fitting them over counties by income, and found that the towers tend to be in lower income neighborhoods. The writer of Cell Phones – Cell Towers – Haarp. An EMF Triple Threat, Michael Winter, shows a map of a wealthy neighborhood and the corresponding map of the absence of cell towers in that precise region. I did my own brief research. I found the wealthiest county in the USA, Loudoun County, Virginia near Washington D.C. and used this tool to locate the cell phone towers in the region, https://www.cellmapper.net, and my map comparison also showed an absence of towers in Loudoun county.

My intent is to carry my voice to peoples’ platforms I can participate in and for information and guidance to be carried to me. It’s an intuitive process of trusting in the intelligence and consciousness of the universal force. I feel that many things that appear to ‘happen’ serendipitously, arrive because of intention to connect to this information. Magic? Today, for the first time i clicked on and read this info from this community that I learned of while taking courses when living in Pennsylvania. I’d go to multidisciplinary talks with religious leaders from all these different faiths putting forth their viewpoint on various questions. Opening it, i found out about this, http://globalclimateactionsummit.org/. The Global Climate Action Summit happens to be taking place in San Francisco, September 12th to 14th. It seems to be an excellent place to continue to disseminate my idea. The idea started years ago, imagined actually right before the COP21 Paris climate talks, which I went to, to Paris for two weeks with 20 dollars.

Previously I named the idea Eco Revolution, then EcoActivate, because the first was taken.

The idea is to bring the information to the people, through a cyber portal of information, and a mobile unit that comes to a community with needs that people perceive or perhaps aren’t aware of at all, that they can then do together to clean up and build sustainable energy, transportation and to plant community gardens, bee and butterfly highways, plant trees and build animals bridges…

The idea is to bring people together in a celebratory, participatory way. With the knowledge they need to create, transform and participate in greening their own environment.

Education is the tool. People power is the engine.

False Dichotomy | Separate from Environment | Zero Point Energy | John Searl | Brian O’Leary |Thrive

Each of the blogs I’m posting today concern the concept of a false dichotomy. In this case, that between we humans and what we label as the environment, as if you could separate a man from the water he drinks or the air he breaths. You can’t. A human can’t live more than a few days without water or more than a few minutes without air. So why has it been so easy to separate ourselves from the obvious destruction of the means by which we’ve been (in the northern hemisphere since the industrial revolution) extracting energy from fuel sources on our planet? Because we’ve erroneously believed that our sources were limitless, at first. And then the politics of economics compelled the force of nature to be a force to combat, rather than one to emulate, adore and protect. In the carolkeiter blog I talk of this separation from the standpoint of physical and emotional health, of which personal habits and particularly the food that one ingests, can lead to either health or illness. Incredulously, the American Medical Association and other government health offices as well as the majority of medical schools across the country, do not even offer classes in nutrition, nor do doctors talk about the subject to their patients, as Dr. Michael Gregor points out in his talk. Doctors are seduced by pharmaceutical companies to hand out prescription medicine, yet not to talk about diet, when the food that people consume is the leading cause of death due to ‘impoverished’ diets.

https://carolkeiter.wordpress.com/2018/04/26/false-dichotomy-separate-from-self-gabor-mate-michael-grefor-shift/

Humans become ensconced in the activities of their immediate environment, without being aware of larger trends. It can take a long time for the collective species to adequately understand a perspective that time and distance obscures from their immediate view.

I spoke of Storytelling and Stories-Not-Sold in The Politics of Economics in a former blog, revealing the facts that pivotal discoveries have been made by different individuals at different periods of time in the last century in the United States that were either forcefully suppressed or the inventor’s equipment confiscated, damaged or stolen.

Regarded by many as ‘The Godfather’ of free energy or zero point energy science, Professor John Searl believes his magnetic generator, the Searl Effect Generator (SEG), can save our planet from economic and environmental disaster. So, what if he’s telling the truth?

John Searl talks of his Magnetic Current Stirs “Electrons” – (SEG) Searl Effect Generator, which converts electrons into electricity.

Professor John Searl, The Godfather of free energy / zero point energy science, believes his magnetic generator, the Searl Effect Generator (SEG), can save our planet from economic and environmental disaster.

“Changing the art of combusting to get energy which is producing pollution, to one that is natural, the absorbing of natural energy, compressing it and then using it and letting it go; you burn nothing in the process…As electrons come out, electrons are being drawn in, so it can never get hot. The flow keeps getting stronger and speeds up. Conventional currents are slow currents that draw in heat; the more current, the more heat. This system is the opposite, the more current you draw, the colder it gets. Electrons enter and move faster and faster until they change their state and become a superconductor.”

Because my passion is the desire to alert people to the disposition of the plants and animals that inhabit this world whose environments and habitats are being systematically destroyed, this environmental crisis and ecocide that is occurring is mostly due to the heavy consumption that our current political or economic realities rely upon. Continued emphasis on the market place and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has actually become, as I wrote in this former blog, a Gross Domestic Problem (frankly it’s not domestic at all, but worldwide).

Generating wealth and the continued propagation of products to keep that motor greased, has lead to the degeneration of our environment with pollution and the continued extermination of species who are part of the creation. We have collectively walked away from our connection to the earth and all of its creatures in this treadmill of production and consumption, in which even our concept of happiness and entertainment has become something that is objectified into products, rather than processes.

This dominant matrix of drilling, plowing, extracting, draining and all of the destruction and pollution stemming from the combustion engine and our typical means of extracting energy, is killing everything, and us.

It is not serendipity but eloquent synchronicity of timing that I have come upon one after another mention of the connection of our actions that are devastating our environment, and the fact that there are many cures for diseases and innovations already in the research stages for energy that can be very simply extracted from the space around us, with no delatarious results, side effects or negative fall-out. They are there, but have not been invested in, because of a few individuals and corporations throttling and constricting the information from being freely released to the public. Again, it’s because they have trillions of dollars that they’ve invested.

We have been sort of walking along, following in footsteps of our families and socialized through our education to continue what we’ve learned are the ways to follow, to be an accepted ‘productive’ citizen. We haven’t really questioned this. Often the history and lessons learned get lost, especially in a world in which many people are on a treadmill of continued pursuit of financial demands and time constraints in making ends meet (which continue to grow no matter how financially secure one perceive’s oneself to be).

I bring in the concept of zero point energy, which I first learned about researching my book a few years ago. And now in the last days different sources entirely have brought me to the same focal points. One could say that my whole being has guided me perpetually to this same information, because of the choices I’ve made. I’ve read things in the last week that brought together the concepts of free energy – the energy in the ‘vacuum’ of space everywhere (which is not a vacuum at all), together with the mention of UFO’s and the electromagnetic fields that they operate through and consciousness…and the fact that much of this information is continually suppressed. What? Sounds incongruent, grouping these together.

Well, in fact, the degradation of our environment due to our typical means of extracting energy have been destructive. Yet as I’ve paraphrased this article The Quantum Vacuum: How ‘Empty’ Space is Actually the Seat of the most Violent of Physics’ “Quantum physicists discovered that physical atoms are made up of vortices of energy that are constantly spinning and vibrating, each one radiating its own unique energy signature. This is also known as “the Vacuum” or “The Zero-Point Field.”…This “stuff” within this space can be accessed and used, [which] was experimentally confirmed when The Casimir Effect illustrated zero point or vacuum state energy.[It] predicts that two metal plates close together attract each other due to an imbalance in the quantum fluctuations.

Nassim Haramein, Director of Research at The Resonance Project Foundation is a physicist, public speaker, inventor and educator. In his TEDxUCSD describes ‘The Connected Universe

In fact, astronomer, former astronaut, and author of “The Second Coming of Science” and “Exploring Inner and Outer Space,” Brian O’Leary very eloquently talks of these. It is a long video, yet because he is very clever and succinct, not tedious whatsoever. He is very understandable. I happened upon this video today, pulling together and clarifying numerous articles and videos that I’ve watched.

Brian O’Leary Free Energy and New Paradigms In Science

“Gravity is an electromagnetic force, as is consciousness.”

We presently have an alternative to oil, fossil fuel and nuclear power.

O’Leary speaks of his research into the contemporary science of ‘free energy.

O’Leary speaks of his research into this new understanding. It’s all there, this contemporary scene of ‘free energy’. He points out that whereas many people speak of Nikola Teslas’s invention a century ago, he says there’s currently research going on all over the world, particularly in Japan. This technology is already quite realized. He quite gently says that it’s easy to get angry with the people who have wanted to keep the truth of reality in a box, because of their vested interests.

“We presently have an alternative to oil, fossil fuel and nuclear power. The three basic technologies of ‘free energy’ are cold fusion (technique of introducing Hydrogen into a metal lattice), magnetic motors (magnetic wheels with magnets that rotate and the rotary motion creates an interaction with this zero point energy field – the potential energy field that underlies free energy) and solid state (a crystal or specially conditioned magnet that resonates with the zero point field to extract > put energy into the system.” The role reversal in this country – rather than encourage innovation – inventors in the USA have had their work suppressed, alienated, expatriated, or had their well being threatened, devices confiscated. By the fact that there is no coverage whatsoever .0001% of the climate crisis reveals the corpocrisy maneuvering behind the curtain.”

O’Leary mentions in his talk that the theoretical physicist John Archibald Wheeler, claimed that “One coffee cup full of space contains enough potential energy to evaporate all of the earth’s oceans.”

We have an answer to our energy problem, we won’t in the future have to rely on any grid system. It naturally threatens the energy industries and utilities that stand to lose trillions in profit. Brian O’Leary states that it is necessary for us to get off of our drunken oil binge since the losses to the environment due to combustion engines has been enormous.

This will open doors to other forms of research: anti-gravity research and consciousness. Our ability to influence the material world – psychokinesis.

As O’Leary states, there are numerous contemporary inventions of one or another that tap into this free energy. Paramahamsa Tewari’s Space Energy or Free Energy Generator.

All of these I mention, because we are having an environmental crisis that is causing an enormous ecocide, precipitated by the continued quest for focused industrial extraction of energy and food sources that are out of proportion with a limited earth.

THIS CAN BE TURNED AROUND BY OUR OWN ACTIONS.

Thich Nhat Hanh Awaken from our Illusion of Separateness

Thich Nhat Hanh Awaken from our Illusion of Separateness

excerpted from Thich Nhat Hanh’s Love Letter to the Earth

At this very moment, the Earth is above you, below you, all around you, and even inside you. The Earth is everywhere. You may be used to thinking of the Earth as only the ground beneath your feet. But the water, the sea, the sky, and everything around us comes from the Earth. Everything outside us and everything inside us comes from the Earth. We often forget that the planet we are living on has given us all the elements that make up our bodies. The water in our flesh, our bones, and all the microscopic cells inside our bodies all come from the Earth and are part of the Earth. The Earth is not just the environment we live in. We are the Earth and we are always carrying her within us.

Realizing this, we can see that the Earth is truly alive. We are a living, breathing manifestation of this beautiful and generous planet. Knowing this, we can begin to transform our relationship to the Earth. We can begin to walk differently and to care for her differently. We will fall completely in love with the Earth.

When we are in love with someone or something, there is no separation between ourselves and the person or thing we love. We do whatever we can for them and this brings us great joy and nourishment. That is the relationship each of us can have with the Earth.”

Crisis Among the Palms talks about the Palm Oil ecocide, from the Congo basin to Malaysia to Peru. As a relatively new player on global commodity markets, the industry has quickly grown to rely on global financing to fuel its expansion. So it is once again a narrow minded, expansion for quick profit despite the long term and irreparable losses that are to blame. “Having expanded by millions of hectares a year across the tropics in the past several decades, the palm oil industry is a leading cause of rainforest destruction – and a source of both economic dispossession and wage labor for countless people.”

This I introduced in a former blog https://carolkeiter.wordpress.com/2013/11/22/the-truth-earthlings-love-letter-to-the-earth-thich-nhat-hanh-kumi-naidoo-greenpeace-saving-the-earth-from-ourselves-only-after-cree-indians/

We can turn all of this around by informing ourselves and taking actions to demand the implementation of what will bring about a peaceful and thriving revolution of how we operate in society and how we generate energy, transport ourselves, live and work.

The documentary movie Thrive was created by Foster Gamble, bank heir to the multinational and pharmaceutical company Procter & Gamble and his wife Kimberly. He basically stepped aside from the matrix within which he’s ensconced to produce this “unconventional documentary that lifts the veil on what’s REALLY going on in our world by following the money upstream — uncovering the global consolidation of power in nearly every aspect of our lives. Weaving together breakthroughs in science, consciousness and activism. Thrive offers real solutions, empowering us with unprecedented and bold strategies for reclaiming our lives and our future.”

He talks of his inspiration of Buckminster Fuller’s concept of the Vector Equilibrium and of the torus is the underlying structure of the universe. Foster Gamble researched the dynamics of the toroidal energy form and vector equilibrium as primary patterns fundamental to the creation of the universe at all scales. He talks about accessing zero point energy; new energy technology; seeing clean, free energy as a means to transfer the quality of life on this planet. It became clear as he began to follow the money to see why information wasn’t being released, and in the movie he describes the powers that have controlled information and the ways in which we can use this to free ourselves from the paradox of believing that we are separate.

“Who controls the food supply, controls the people;
Who controls the energy, can control whole continents;
Who controls the money, can control the world.”

The Eloquently and Elegantly stated Truth

Nothing is more important than reading this. And then reading it again.

The most elegant and eloquent presentation of the facts, that anyone who can understand words, must be persuaded to hear and respond to emotionally and intuitively as the truth.

I have merely copied and pasted the text of this writing within the link below (minus the original links within it), feeling it to be the utterly most important statement of vast insight, that everyone must read. And continue to talk.

Leaving

Hi friends,

I’m leaving Google at the end of next week.

There’s too much I want to say.  🙂

I spent the summer away from work, outdoors in Oregon, awash in beauty.  I learned a lot.  I wept at how we’re treating the earth, as I rode past mile after mile of logged forests, polluted streams, and lifeless monocrop fields.

I got to be part of what I’ll call “alternative culture”, to explore ways of meeting all of our human needs through local community alternatives to basically everything we currently use money for.  I wrote some about this time here on this blog.  I barely scratched the surface though.  More and more people, perhaps millions now even in the West, are devoting their lives to new (and sometimes ancient) ways of living in healthy relationship with each other and with the earth.  While they are usually partly within the current system, when all of these new ways of living come together, the current system becomes obsolete.  I see joyous glimpses of this everywhere.

Meanwhile our dominant civilization is killing its own foundation: the healthy web of life on earth.  Through deforestation and pollution we are destroying the ability of the planet to support all forms of life.  We can see this in the oceans where the fish populations are collapsing, the silent fields that were once thriving forests, and the deserts where millions of people go hungry in drought.  This ecological crisis can’t be solved simply by swapping oil for solar panels.  I’m no longer optimistic that we will soon fix these problems with some new technology.  It’s quite possible that climate change is exacerbating the storms and droughts and fires, and that these will continue to become more severe in the next years.

The effects are not evenly distributed.  The unhoused breathe wildfire smoke while many of the housed have filtered air.  Some of us see our homes flooded or burnt while for others business continues as usual.  Most communities in the country and increasingly in the world have lost the ability to sustain themselves from their land, and now must import almost everything they need from elsewhere, which becomes precarious when those importing the goods see no profit in it (food deserts), or when disaster breaks down the supply line like in Puerto Rico.  Many communities no longer have access to clean water, or are losing it as I write.  On Monday I listened to a man from Guatemala talk about a new silver mine near his home that is polluting and drying up the water supply for many villages there.  Almost all silver is used to produce electronics, and demand is rising.  In Oregon this summer, ancient trees thousands of years old were cleared for fire breaks.  The entire planet is being saturated with chemicals that we ought never to have created.  These kinds of damage cannot be undone or fixed by technology.  The story for other species is even worse, as most wild animal populations have died off and we pack billions of animals in cages in horrific factory farms.  The coral reefs, the rhinos, the ancient forests, the whales, and even the insects… who speaks for them?  Some people do, and they end up in jail if their actions threaten profits.  Profits are made at the expense of Life.

And within our civilization, we have more prisoners and refugees, more drugs and anxiety and depression and stress and addiction than ever.  Even in wealthy regions, most people don’t like the work they do all day.  It’s also not physically healthy to be indoors or using a computer or riding in vehicles for as many hours as many of us who are “successful” do.  What is happening to us?

It seems the leaders of our world are apathetic or powerless, as they fight over the most gaudy deck chairs on this titanic.  While it pains me, I don’t hate them for this; their actions are the product of a traumatic history that touches all of us.  They don’t know what they’re doing.

I envision a more beautiful world where humans have a healthy part to play, to love and respect the earth, not to dominate and exploit it.  I see many people living that vision already, and want to live my life in service to it.  I see the extremes of both ugliness and beauty grow more stark.  Ugliness as we close down and protect ourselves from the ‘other’, beauty as we come together in community, in love with mother earth.  Will “society” as a whole make some kind of transition, or continue the march into dystopia and eventual chaos?  I don’t know.  It will be both at the same time.  Some people are already in an obvious dystopia, some are in a beautiful place yet in the shadow of a collapsing ecosystem.  To hope for a peaceful transition would be to ignore the incredible violence on which the current system lives.  It will be violent because it already is.  May we learn to be kind to each other as these changes unfold.

It’s been said that we need the darkness to see the stars.  We can open ourselves to what is happening, feel and honor our pain, grieve what is lost, and revel in our deep gratitude for the beauty of life.  I don’t mean to be a downer pointing at all this ugliness.  I feel that we have a deep need to see it and acknowledge it.  It makes the beauty that much more precious and worth living for.

“Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
With your one wild and precious life?”
-Mary Oliver

What should we do then?

I don’t know exactly what we should do.  I don’t have a rational “here’s what everyone needs to do” that will resolve all of these crises.  I want to let go of my need to control what happens, because I’m really not in control.  At the same time, even if I let go and accept whatever comes, I am a human being and it is natural for me to care and want to help, to serve what I love.  I will not deny that part of me either.  So I find myself thinking about how to help, even if it seems “hopeless” overall.  I need not stress about the outcomes, but I will still act.  What else would I do with my few short years here?

So what might I do to be practical?

I don’t believe our technology is serving us well.  We, the wealthy humans near the top of the power hierarchy may see it as indispensable, but if we consider the animals or the fish or the trees or the laborers in the sweatshops and mines and plantations, it’s not working out so well.  Yes, our technology relieves some suffering in some places, but at what cost?  We simply do not, and probably cannot, count the costs of development.  I am not enthusiastic that further technological progress will heal us.

I also don’t believe that our problems are mostly due to money being in the wrong hands.  Measuring everything by monetary value seems to me one of the roots of the crises.  The mentality that values money over life drives much of the pollution and resource extraction and oppression around the world, since humans first accumulated “property” and enslaved each other.  I don’t feel that getting as much money as I can and giving it to the non-profit side of the system is the best way for me to serve what I love.  I feel that the money abstraction and the distance it puts between us and the effects of our actions makes us feel disconnected and alone.

I also don’t like our culture’s valuing of measurable impact over everything else.  Much of what is precious to me cannot be measured.  What’s the measurable value of a 5000 year old yew tree?  What’s the measurable value of caring for a disabled child?

“May what I do flow from me like a river
no forcing
and no holding back
the way it is with children.”
-Rilke

So I don’t know what we all should do exactly, and I don’t know what I will do beyond the short term.  I’m skeptical of money and the dominant culture’s value system.  I want to trust what makes me feel alive over our culture’s normal stories that usually are rooted in fear.  I recognize that I’m one of the most privileged people in the world.  I know most people do not have the options that I have.  I don’t mean to judge, only to encourage.

Right now what’s happening is I’ve been living in a homeless protest encampment in Berkeley the last couple months, which has given me still another perspective on our society.  It got interesting this weekend and we’re fighting eviction, hoping to benefit and inspire homeless communities around the country.  With all of the disaster and war refugees today, and housing crises in many places, there are more and more people who can’t have regular housing, and we could learn to live together with more kindness and understanding.  I’m also involved with the community here in other ways like Food Not Bombs.  I expect soon I’ll be moving on to other places, to learn and to live in service to what I love.  To restore soil and help plants grow and be community.

I’ve learned I don’t need much money to live well myself, so I don’t need to earn it for myself.  Perhaps my perspective on money and impact will change and I’ll eventually decide that earning money and supporting my many friends who don’t have much money in their various causes is the best way to contribute, and then I might return to a job, but we’ll see.  “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”

Wherever I am, I’ll be with some kind of community learning how to live in healthier relationship with each other and with the earth.  There’ll be dark moments and joyous moments, and this is life.  Life is good.  Whatever comes, I will give attention to the beauty around me, the beauty of community and of nature and of every form.  Beauty everywhere begs our attention.

“An eye is meant to see things.
The soul is here for its own joy.

A head has one use: For loving a true love.
Feet: To chase after.

Formula for modern dysfunctional relationship with time | Deepak & Oprah | Meditate & Be Intensely Present With Your Moment

Be Intensely Present In Your Moment

Be Intensely Present In Your Moment

Today’s topic of the 21 day meditation presented and hosted by Oprah Winfrey and Deepak Chopra was about the pervasive psychological dysfunction of modern man with respect to their relationship to time. I realized that my experiences during my ride to the sea to swim in chilly temperatures and all that approached my senses, was really living this liberation of being fully immersed in the present.

trees on bicycle ride to sea

trees on bicycle ride to sea

Yesterday on my bicycle ride to the Mediterranean Sea along a path on the river Lez in Montpellier, I was acutely aware of all that was hitting my senses. Fragrances, colors, watching ripples of water surfacing along the river from activity within and considering how space is shaped to create these cylindric waves. Marveling over these trees I love, all in a row that have these massive bases that contain the base of three to five trunks shooting out. They all have this cool mottled bark, rolling contours, curves and indentations. I love to climb them. I looked at the glistening sparkles of water as the mid afternoon sun bounced off different patches along the  river. Coming to the opening of the river to the sea you see contrasts in color and these pink flamingos. I look at the differences in tones and shades and always remember my mother commenting on this on our drive out to New Mexico from Pennsylvania the first time I moved there.  When we reached the desert, she pointed out all of the subtleties of different colors.

Perhaps this is my homage to my ancestors, my parents, who are no longer physically alive. On this All Saint’s Day.

Halloween day, I left my place in the north of town and bicycled along the path along the river Lez from Montpellier to the Mediterranean Sea, to swim. I wasn’t the only fool in the water! After you break the psychological barrier, of the frrrreeeezing water – still not as cold as the ocean by San Francisco in northern California – your body adjusts. Once I finally put my head under, I was fine. Well, it was pretty icy cold that I couldn’t keep it in the water at first, but got used to that too. I love, love, love to swim. I love being in a body of liquid, especially outside in nature. I love the stretching and very slight resistance of swimming. I swam from one boundary of rocks to another, doing breast stroke, back stroke and freestyle. I swam as a kid on the swim team. I mention this because it is so incredibly stimulating to immerse oneself in this cold environment and then to bounce one’s body back to normal temperatures. I had to run to warm up.

I took pictures with my inadequate phone camera of stunning views, which fortunately are crystalized in my memory, for a while. ha huh. I looked closely, following the contours of these lovely ornate trees by the river, looking at their papered skin of differing hues. A little later I saw a large cluster of pink flamingos sitting still on the water in the distance, with the reflection upside down of their pinkness landing from my perspective, several inches below them. These other smaller sea birds were in the foreground, with black heads and white bodies that were smaller and perched in a row, little black and white spots in a line.

I came briefly today as I’m writing this, to Montpellier’s Jardin des Plantes. Every town of any size in France seems to have one.  I listened to quite a chatter of the birds present as the afternoon sun was angling. I heard different species – really quite vocal – recording the clicks and tones.

The whole 21 day guided meditation series is about being in the present, Making Every Moment Matter.

Ironically, today’s meditation is titled “Recognizing and Healing Time Dysfunction”. They each take turns introducing the concepts, Oprah Winfrey leading, and Deepak Chopra, accompanied by a tantalizing acoustic entrance, goes into a more in depth spiritual explanation. Today they talked about extracting oneself from being fixated on either the highs ore lows of whether or not one is accomplishing what one expects to accomplish in a certain time. We’re either delighted to be checking off our list or feeling guilty for not doing so, and letting this dictate determine how we feel. I know that my mother was fixated with this ‘to do’ list, and I’ve genetically and socially allowed myself to be swept into the same cultural dictates.

I decided to write about it because in fact, when I’ve allowed myself to go on these excursions without feeling guilty, and then feel so alive with all of the senses and discoveries, I can’t imagine not being open and completely immersed in the present. What a delight. The beauty of not being swept into the guilts and obsession with whether or not one is keeping this agenda, is to be fully enmeshed in the moment, whether one is pulled to a new task, or waiting, pausing to notice a flickering of light or shadow, and being fully with that moment, overwhelmingly present. Life is full of these impressions, sensations, intuitions and discoveries. When one is in this moment, immersed, one can gather from it the jewels that can only be seen if they are beheld.

I have developed a habit of taking notes to the oral presentation of Oprah and Chopra, so here are the notes I took of today’s meditation, unedited. 21 day meditation on time: Day 3 – Recognizing and Healing Time Dysfunction

Oprah:

• Deepak calls time sickness; if it resonates with you; the heavy feeling that all you set out to accomplish that day isn’t going to get done, something that throws you off
• living in the moment means eliminating the highs and the lows, the high from checking off all the things, and just being in the moment
• Eckart Toole says if you’re sitting in the moment, recognizing the time spent in enjoyment and what it is that causes anxiety, leads you to the path to what it is that is fulfillment and your true calling.

Chopra:

• time is an experience that shifts depending on what happens on the inside
• besides the biological basis of time, there is the psychological aspect: when you do something that you’re passionate about, time flies, when you’re bored, time drags, when you’re doing something that has no meaning for you, time has been wasted
• we experience time according to our psychological state: when you’re in love and you’ve spent time with your beloved, an hour feels like a minute, when you’re suffering from depression, a minute feels like an hour
• modern life takes our experience of time to an extreme; time sickness is an epidemic; it’s the ultimate life-style disorder, because under the pressures of time, life isn’t lived
• we become robotically trained to measure every day by what we have achieved or haven’t: chores left undone, the relationship we didn’t have time for, the exercise we put off…: this is what it means to suffer from time sickness
• this is born from our own experience of time; we can change that experience any time we want
• how do we know if we relate to time in a dysfunctional way; consider the following symptoms: feeling like there is never enough time in the day, constantly looking at the clock and racing against it, feeling frustration and failure of not accomplishing what you wanted to, dreading the passage of time because it saps energy and youth
• simply telling someone to slow down doesn’t work, there has to be an inner shift in the right direction
• you’re getting over time sickness when you enjoy your experiences and take time to appreciate them (like the fact that i absolutely delight in listening to bird’s chirping back and forth, a high slicing pitch and a little clicks, and also looking at this other magpie building its nest from the sheds of grass in this back yard)
• you feel that your day is flowing well when you find time to feel relaxed and when your day worries are absent; time dysfunction isn’t about time itself but the mismatch between your perception and reality
• life can unfold naturally with a sense that you have all the time in the world
we don’t need better time management, we need a new state of mind
• as you experience yourself as present awareness, the symptoms of time sickness will melt away

Democracy is Dying and it’s Startling How Few are Worried Paul Mason

I have been in France just under a month. I found out not even two hours ago through a conversation on skype with my sister who lives in England and France, that during the time we were back in the United States of Apathy, that ICE (i hadn’t know what this was, i thought ICE was simply In Case of Emergency) However I learned from my sister today about the other version. (ICE) Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

I hadn’t known what ICE meant, I had to google it. http://www.newsweek.com/immigration-immigration-and-customs-enforcement-ice-donald-trump-628896

ICE had come into the town of Lebanon, PA into a catholic church on a Sunday, and rounded up dozens of people, probably mostly men, of darker skin, and packed them into a van to take to another town to sit in jail, awaiting trial, perhaps a 1 or 2 year wait.

Newsweek, ICE raid, Risk, Deportation

Newsweek ICE raid Who Is At Risk Deportation.

While visiting the USA just a month ago, my sister befriended a guy from El Salvador who stayed in the motel room next to her. He’s been in the USA for 25 years, has a green card and has several kids and a wife in Virginia. Presently he’s been in central Pennsylvania working in construction to support his family. He was one of the people rounded up and loaded into this van. My sister attempted to stay with him, holding his hand, went into the van, and the police officer warned her with a tone of reproach that she better get the hell out of there if she knows what’s good for her.

The El Salvadoran gave my sister his phone and the number of his wife to call in VA. My sister said that his wife was screaming when she heard the news. Her life support money-earner for herself and her kids, disposed of.

War Zone Desperate and Dead Mondediplio

War Zone Desperate and Dead Mondediplio

I knew nothing of this. I was just reading headlines last night about 500 people in Turkey under questioning or worse, for attempting to overthrow a dictator. I know nothing of this Turkey official and hadn’t read the story yet.

500 in court, Turkey Coup Attempt 2016, CNN

Nearly 500 in court Turkey Coup Attempt 2016 CNN

Yet I thought to myself, can not the world step in and change this situation? That was before I knew what was happening in the neighboring town while I was sleeping on a Sunday morning. WTF.

What can we do? Sit back, crack open a beer and hang out with friends, watch a TV show, get ready to arrange the schedule of picking up the kids from their practice…..when before our eyes a military dictatorship fascist embarrassment of a President is enforcing this sweep of people across the country who have been living and working here, taking jobs that Americans haven’t wanted, and who were brought here to do the dirty jobs that help our system to run efficiently, are suddenly afraid to leave their homes to go to the grocery store?

Stop Swooning over Justin Trudeau, Climate Disaster, Bill McKibben

Stop Swooning over Justin Trudeau Climate Disaster Bill McKibben

McKibben writes for the Guardian, “Yes, 173bn barrels is indeed the estimate for recoverable oil in the tar sands. So let’s do some math. If Canada digs up that oil and sells it to people to burn, it will produce, according to the math whizzes at Oil Change International, 30% of the carbon necessary to take us past the 1.5C target that Canada helped set in Paris.

That is to say, Canada, which represents one half of 1% of the planet’s population, is claiming the right to sell the oil that will use up a third of the earth’s remaining carbon budget. Trump is a creep and a danger and unpleasant to look at, but at least he’s not a stunning hypocrite.”

Out of Wreckage, A New Politics, Age of Crisis, George Monbiot

Out of the Wreckage A New Politics for an Age of Crisis George Monbiot

Monbiot writes, “A toxic ideology rules the world – of extreme competition and individualism. It misrepresents human nature, destroying hope and common purpose. Only a positive vision can replace it, a new story that re-engages people in politics and lights a path to a better world.”

What are we going to do?

Immigrants from Syria and other parts of the world, war/climate immigrants are escaping deplorable situations to come to the West, which has been living amply, to be treated with hostility and turned away with barbwire. Black market money to stuff people on rickety over-loaded boats, taking peoples’ life savings, to flee situations, only to find that the rest of the world is not helping to organize their safe transport.

This is very, very wrong. We can use the money from the enormous profits from banks, international corporations who make millions and billions in profit, to set up communities, and renewable energy enterprises to re-esatablish safe havens.

This is not right. We can’t read news and do nothing like it isn’t our problem. In some countries people are having 12 to 16 babies. A large part of the problem of GLOBAL WARMING/CLIMATE CHANGE IS due to over-population. We are sucking up the soil, destroying habitats of other animals who have a right to life.

Humans need to be accountable.

We need to be accountable for what is happening ALL OVER THE WORLD.

We Are Humanity Film, Jarawa documentary

We Are Humanity Film Jarawa documentary

We need to intercept. I’m sorry, but we need to educate and infiltrate, not remain passive, saying it’s not my problem. Not my problem if some people are cruel to other humans or animals or their actions are knowingly or unknowingly destroying the habitat and polluting some creatures’ environment.

I don’t think any living being can just sit back and let all this happen without having a conscience and wanting to help.

I don’t know where to begin, except for expressing this. I think the world needs leaders who will actually step in and shut Trump and other dictators down. People can divest – take their money out of banks and institutions that support dirty energy and dirty politics. There are numerous ways that people working together could SHUT DOWN OPERATIONS AS THEY ARE through organized actions like; those working in public transportation or truck drivers to not work for a day, or three…We can all work together, educate one another, demand new structures and create them together, IMMEDIATELY.

There are plenty of people with the wisdom and insights and contacts to know how to lead and guide a worldwide REVOLUTION. Not a violent one, a movement with people stepping out of their routines and giving a little time and effort and action to make their voice heard. We can’t let more dictators destroy peoples lives. We can’t let peoples religious beliefs just allow people to pop out 13 babies and pretend that it’s okay. We live in one world, one with limited resources. I refuse to just take on business as usual, and pretend that it’s okay for Mr. Orangehead Chump to push his grey suits around and whimsical notions of what he thinks needs to happen. It’s time for the fucking world intelligence, artists, teachers, scientists and leaders to step in. I still have to read about what’s happening in Turkey, or Venezuela, because I can’t keep up with all of it, but it just IS NOT OKAY ANYMORE, to think that “It’s not here next to me in my community, so it’s not my problem.” IT IS ALL OF OUR PROBLEM. WE NEED LEADERS WHO CAN STEP IN AND INTERCEPT, AGENCIES TO EDUCATE, GUIDE.

I thank all of the environmental, social, ecological groups who serve as watch dogs and educate the rest of us, but somehow, i think something much more brilliant has to take place to begin lighting up the whole world to working together. If we are the people – in a Democracy – choosing our leaders, then we should have the military industrial complex working with us, not in militarized suits, against us.

Emotionally Stunning video ‘Canuck & I’ Explores the Bond Between A Crow and His Human

I found this video through one of the Facebook groups which I hold sacred ‘The More Beautiful World’.

‘Canuck & I’ Explores the Bond Between A Crow and His Human

Now I know why I chose to make another espresso and stay ‘home’ to watch this, prior to going out with my laptop to visit some places, print new cards, sit in a cafe to work on my book and new music.

It’s because I mentioned on Facebook when posting this that I already had tears in my eyes before knowing anything about it, and well, I had tears flowing down my face the entire 20 minutes.

My mother would easily tear up expressing emotion. I simply love animals so much. There is such a vast universe, well, in this case, planet filled with fish and mammals in the seas and animals and birds from tropical forests to deserts.

Humans can be so much more. Our lives can be enriched so, so much more by opening them moment to moment and valuing all of the creatures that we share this planet with, ALIVE.

Hopefully sharing this video will bring warmth, loving feelings, compassion and a desire to protect the habitats of the magnificent species with whom we share this planet.

Walk more, bicycle more, have less children, aim for education to share empowering stories more and buy and consume less. Living healthier and happier lives by living more simply and feeling gratitude and authentic joy from doing things that empower ourselves and one another, will reduce the dependence on needing more money, pharmaceutical companies, insurance and automobile manufacturers, psychiatrists, and help to alleviate addictions… 🙂

Rainforest Destruction – Loss to Palm Oil Plantations linked to PepsiCo | Here’s what you can do.

Before even viewing the video, I was very informed just reading the information from the organizations (Sum of Us & Rainforest Action Network) who investigate, research, compile information and educate us. They use their time and expertise to investigate these habitats and their destruction, and help us all, as we are many, many people, to take action and make the difference. Each of us have the chance to learn and communicate information.

Funny, that the people for the most part who eat products made from this stuff (palm oil products),
have poorer diets, get less nutrition from the ‘addictive’ and ‘dead’ junk food filled with non-descript ingredients, and typically have less education about how to eat properly. Other than standing on a street corner with a sign that states what eating this product is doing to the most precious habitats giving life to precious creatures who are losing their land at an enormously fast rate, what we can do is educate one another. This is the only earth with its abundance of phenomenal life, that we have. We can change our habits, our eating and buying habits. We can take the time to learn more about what the most effective ways are to keep these places alive and thriving. Most of our actions can be felt through what we buy. We can take these actions independently, and certainly we can’t go up against these huge organizations and manufacturing firms alone, if we are not informed about them. It is these huge industries like Nestlé who rob people of their own water – dipping into water tables – and then sell it back to them for profit and huge corporate giants like PepsiCo who only have profits in their sphere. It is our addiction to oil, thinking that we need these oversized vehicles; that the lack of health and fitness of many people who choose to drive and feel esteem and protection for their vehicles, when there is so, so much more to what life is all about. Let’s continue to do something, to do more.

It is these Big Three buyers who are causing this destruction, rather ominous abstract sounding companies that we wouldn’t have a clue about, if it weren’t for the environmental organizations who do the research to inform us. Let me grab just this one line to r e i t e r a t e what we are dealing with.

“The only place on earth where elephants, tigers, orangutans and rhinos live in the same forest, Leuser is considered one of the world’s top priority conservation areas.”

rainforest destruction linked to pepsi, pepsico, clearcutting, palm oil plantations

shocking rainforest destruction linked to pepsi and clearcutting to create palm oil plantations

“A new report is shining a spotlight on some of the most ruthless destruction of elephant habitat we’ve ever seen. And the massive forest clearance is linked to the suppliers of snack foods sold by companies like PepsiCo across the world.

A field investigation by our partners at Rainforest Action Network uncovered the devastating clearance of already endangered forests in the Leuser Ecosystem. The only place on earth where elephants, tigers, orangutans and rhinos live in the same forest, the Leuser Ecosystem is considered one of the world’s top priority conservation areas. It’s also the source of drinking water and livelihoods for millions of people in the Indonesian province of Aceh.

But Leuser’s critical importance is apparently of no concern to rogue palm oil producer PT. ABN. The company has been illegally — and rapidly — turning lowland forests into palm oil plantations despite being ordered out by the Indonesian government. So who has been buying PT. ABN’s conflict palm oil? Wilmar palm oil refineries, supplier of brands like PepsiCo, McDonald’s, and Nestlé.”
