Msg from the Future ~Green New Deal~ with AOC | Every Day is Earth Day | Surprise! World’s Happiest, Most Prosocial >Bicycle the Most<

This is the most exciting and cool thing I’ve seen and heard.

The release of this beautifully crafted, stunningly clear and informative message is another spark that is a gift.

The Intercept: A Message From The Future With Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

It reaches us through the heart. It’s illustrated by Molly Crabapple, and is a brain child of Naomi Klein and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who contributed to text and is the narrator.

A Message from the Future with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Intercept

You can listen to the making of this message through Democracy Now, “A Message from the Future with AOC”: New Film Imagines World Transformed by the Green New Deal

The idea of creating an image of what we can do, instead of harping on how we messed up. This was the theme among peeps at the Place to B in Paris during the Paris Climate Talks, COP21

‘How to talk about the climate differently.’

We can all keep adding to this with ideas of our own in our own communities. And as we continue to imagine ourselves and come up with things we could do in our own homes and communities, we could actually do these projects together – and the Green New Deal will pay us to do what we love doing. It will raise the standards of living towards health, cleaning up, growing our own food on roofs and creating community gardens, solar and wind on roofs, planting, creating green-ways for pollinators to larger animals and towards tearing down parking lots and planting there, and implementing all sorts of projects in our own communities. Basically completing stopping any oil/petroleum based business, and immediately finding alternatives to driving gas-fueled automobiles. Shift the ownership from private to establishing vast sweeping common areas that are preserved, clean up rivers, plant trees.

It could be quite fun.

The Climate Reality Project states “In report after report, including the IPCC’s Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 °C, the world’s leading scientific experts have sounded the alarm that unprecedented and aggressive measures must be taken to reduce emissions to safe levels to protect our future.” It is up to all of us to become involved, participate in raising our health and happiness standards, while reducing our carbon footprint.

World Happiness Report 2019

World Happiness Report 2019

The World Happiness Report, 2019 designates all of the Scandinavian countries as topping the list. Socialized healthcare, work/life balance skews towards life, love of the outdoors, high bicycle rates, prosocial behavior, gratitude, transparency, everyone is educated for free and more of a stress on the commonwealth. By the way, Nordic countries have implemented a sophisticated internet broadband technology, as distinct from cellular. Sweden is also one of the most transparent countries in the world and, consequently, one of the most trusting.

Of the World Happiness Report 2019, “Chapter 5 discusses the happiness effects of digital technology use, Chapter 6 deals with big data, while Chapter 7 describes an epidemic of mass addictions in the United States, expanding on the evidence presented in Chapter 5.”

Is it perhaps telling, that these same countries that top the happiness list,

also among the highest bicycle riders per capita.

It’s not causal, but a correlation for sure. I ride bicycle everywhere. In Berlin, Germany, as in all Scandinavian countries, there’s a well-established infrastructure of bicycle paths. There are many different ways that people transport their children by bicycle.

Child Bicycle Carriers Scandinavia

Child Bicycle Carriers Scandinavia

The infrastructure is integral, and so well designed that I was reprimanded by an elderly woman when I had first arrived in Berlin and road in the city by bicycle, because there’s a distinct bike lane as well as designated pedestrian walking lane. These paths circuit through city streets and continue into the country. They are raised from the car traffic lanes and clearly separated, so that one feels safely removed from vehicles.

It may seem like an extreme encumbrance to many of my contemporary American peers, because of the convenience of hopping in an automobile. Life is slower on a bicycle, and frankly, one find’s oneself taking more of the environment in; with the option to stop, change directions and turn down little ally ways if something piques one’s curiosity.

Many I guess are thwarted by distance, if they live in rural areas or suburbia. That’s because there is barely infrastructure to accommodate public transportation in the USA Today. Rail systems had been in place in some areas of the USA at the beginning of the 20th century, but replaced by a launch into the automotive industry. Living in Germany, I learned that there’s a well integrated train system, connecting all the small towns (in which one can board with one’s bicycle).

As Deepak Chopra said in a guided meditation, “There’s a big difference between speeding by a field or woods in an automobile, and slowing down to take in the life all around you with all of your senses; details of textures, colors, sounds and smells.” As a child, I was raised with the automobile. I also started bicycling early in my life.

Care for the Natural World – Treat it with Respect and Reverence | The Duke of Cambridge interviews Sir David | WEForum

Sir David Attenborough interviewed by Prince William aka the Duke of Cambridge, at the World Economic Forum, in Davos – the 22nd to 25th of January. Prince William has very thoughtful and prescient questions. It’s evident that Princess Diana’s son is very in touch with what is essential, and is bringing these points out in his interview to the esteemed Sir David Attenborough, who has a great deal of wisdom to share (working 70 years bringing the natural world to people’s homes through television and documentaries).

Sir David Attenborough interviewed by Prince William, HRH Duke of Cambridge

Sir David Attenborough interviewed by Prince William, HRH Duke of Cambridge

I think this should be required listening, required in schools and by world leaders, especially the bimbo in the Whitehouse and any Republican climate science deniers. Sir David Attenborough says,”presently we’re living in the paradox, in which there have never been so many people out of touch with the natural world (more than half of the worlds population live in metropolitan areas), and yet every breath of air and every mouthful of food that we take comes from the natural world. if we damage it, we damage ourselves. The essential part of human life is a healthy planet. We are in danger of wrecking that.”

Asking what he wishes to communicate to the audience of global leaders, Sir David Attenborough responded.

“Care for the natural world. Treat it with respect and reverence. The natural world is the source of all wonder. The future of the natural world is in our hands. We have never been more powerful or populated. We can wreck it with ease, and without even realizing that we’re doing it.

We wreck it, we wreck ourselves. DO NOT WASTE THE RICHES OF THE NATURAL WORLD ON WHICH WE DEPEND. Do not throw food away, do not use energy wastefully. THIS DISASTER OVERTAKING THE WORLD STARTED IN BRITAIN IN THE 18TH CENTURY, THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION. > THE AIM WAS TO CONQUER THE NATURAL WORLD, SHOW OUR MASTERY, WHICH WAS TO DESTROY IT. We know better now. It is time to act.

Swedish girl Strikes School to Break Silence on Climate Change | Greta’s Powerful Speech

I think this girl will change the way the entire world responds to the realities that we have been carefully avoiding. Through a ripple effect, more and more people will confront this issue, it will blossom into an entire wave of action and keep building on itself. Greta’s speech is so honest and articulate. Powerful because she is stating the truth. People will come together. She has inspired Australian school students to do the same in their country. She will inspire people all over the world. One spark of inspiration. Australian school students are organizing a school walk-out, which numerous schools will participate. They are inspired by the 15 year old Swedish Greta Thunberg, who opted to strike school, sitting before the Swedish Parliament. She mentions that if this is an emergency, why are legislators, journalists and everyone else silent. Why are they not talking about it constantly?

Greta’s powerful speech to Swedish people before the Parliament

I’m profoundly moved. In this speech in Swedish with English subtitles, Greta states, “To all of you who choose to look the other way every day because you seem more frightened of the changes that can prevent catastrophic climate change than the catastrophic climate change itself. Your silence is almost worst of all. The future of all the coming generations rests on your shoulder. Every single person counts. Just like every single emission counts. Every single kilo. Everything counts.”

Greta gave an impressive speech in English, in London for the launch of Extinction Rebellion.

The most effective way to cut carbon emissions, according to the researchers, will come as no surprise to Pop X readers: Have fewer children. Also near the top of the list are reducing meat and dairy consumption, switching to clean energy and minimizing carbon-intensive travel by avoiding long flights and ditching your gas-guzzler in favor of walking, biking and public transportation.”

Emotionally Stunning video ‘Canuck & I’ Explores the Bond Between A Crow and His Human

I found this video through one of the Facebook groups which I hold sacred ‘The More Beautiful World’.

Canuck and I, Bond between Crow and Human, Audubon

‘Canuck & I’ Explores the Bond Between A Crow and His Human

Now I know why I chose to make another espresso and stay ‘home’ to watch this, prior to going out with my laptop to visit some places, print new cards, sit in a cafe to work on my book and new music.

It’s because I mentioned on Facebook when posting this that I already had tears in my eyes before knowing anything about it, and well, I had tears flowing down my face the entire 20 minutes.

My mother would easily tear up expressing emotion. I simply love animals so much. There is such a vast universe, well, in this case, planet filled with fish and mammals in the seas and animals and birds from tropical forests to deserts.

Humans can be so much more. Our lives can be enriched so, so much more by opening them moment to moment and valuing all of the creatures that we share this planet with, ALIVE.

Hopefully sharing this video will bring warmth, loving feelings, compassion and a desire to protect the habitats of the magnificent species with whom we share this planet.

Walk more, bicycle more, have less children, aim for education to share empowering stories more and buy and consume less. Living healthier and happier lives by living more simply and feeling gratitude and authentic joy from doing things that empower ourselves and one another, will reduce the dependence on needing more money, pharmaceutical companies, insurance and automobile manufacturers, psychiatrists, and help to alleviate addictions… 🙂

On Positive Transformation to Health and Sustainability through Food Sovereignty | Ron Kinley’s TED talk: Guerrilla Gardening in South Central LA | Vandana Shiva Soil not Oil | Dahlia Wasfi MD on Monsanto’s Seed Terrorism in Iraq | Joe Brewer Working for Billionaires

Okay, well, my preceding blog featuring the over-the-top frightening and provocative wake-up call about human actions on the planet, needs to be answered and redirected to subjects spelling out hope, again and again. I have the tendency to veer towards economic issues and casting the blame towards the culprits, the 1% of course. Why do I feel that enough is enough? Because there’s a tendency among all of us to just feel powerless and sort of heading towards a crash, so that we become even more reckless. Say you are becoming late for an event, and there can become a point where you teeter towards not going at all, because of whatever story you’re telling yourself in your head. Or better analogy, since many people are weight conscious and become obsessed with what they shouldn’t be eating, and then wind up over-indulging big time, because once they’ve ‘broken their rule’ they say, what the hell and now after putting that diet off another day…the downward spiral may set in and feeling upset with oneself and powerless, now feeds a cycle of rationalization.

I often gravitate to talking about economics, bringing up the corpocrisy of capitalism. That’s why the article about “Making money for Billionaires” by Joe Brewer reverberates. Brewer’s punch line, “Will we honor the sacredness of life on Earth and evolve our global economy so that is in service of life? Or will we desecrate all that is sacred in this world so that a handful of families can have a few more yachts, a few more marble bath tubs, and bragging rights that they are the ones who died with the most toys?”

I don’t meant to scare people, though I may.

global, land, sea, temperatures, 1.11C warmer, April 2016

global land and sea temperatures 1.11C warmer in April 2016

Fact: Last month, April was the warmest on record. The Guardian features this article. “April breaks global temperature record, marking seven months of new highs”

Fact: Michael Slezak writes for the Guardian, “World’s carbon dioxide concentration teetering on the point of no return

Fact: The economics of the fossil fuel industry fuels climate change which disrupts peoples lives and impoverishing their connection to nature, as does the economic political system of capitalism which has effectively taken away peoples’ rights to sustainable living.

That’s why dozens of ecological and environmental awareness groups coordinated a world-wide two-week global wave of escalated action to keep coal, oil and gas in the ground. Break Free from Fossil Fuels – through investing physically in ways to avoid these fuels and replace them with others, as well as through divestment from schools, institutions and companies that use these.

-.-.-.-.–
WHAT WE CAN DO! Anyone who is conscious, is aware of the gist of our current reality. Yet perhaps not everyone realizes just how interconnected things are; the earth’s atmosphere and climate, the various species flickering out of existence, the state of human affairs, wellness and disease connected to diet and food growth, resources and how much is leveraged by economics and greed. Yes, you all have heard of the 1% and the 99%. You see on the news the ravages of war and greed.

I couldn’t get this blog out quickly enough for my own taste, except that it has left the exposé on the lies we live there resting further on my top page. Having attended the alternative climate talks coinciding with those among dignitaries in Paris during the same two weeks December 2015, one of the main themes among the various presentations by ecological evangelists, activists, journalists and environmental entrepreneurs, was the need to create a new story to portray the radically changing climate and the radically shifting needs and solutions, so that the message for change will not be disregarded through hopelessness or gloom, but presented as palpable alternatives that can be embraced; with refreshing new ways to approach the subject – in positive ways – that people can grasp and feel inspired by and inclined to act on. Sort of like presenting things in chewable bites that are savory and delicious rather than presenting something so ferociously unwieldy and ugly that the easiest reaction is simply to turn one’s back and pretend it isn’t there, like that homeless person you step around on your way to work in a metropolitan area from the car door to the office entrance.

On this note, I am going to be treating a number of alternative change measures that we all can embrace, over the next blogs.

This one is about the easiest and perhaps most overlooked means of creating change and controlling this through one’s own actions: the food you put in your mouth. As the founders of Collective Evolution state, change happens from within.

No better place to start, than what you put into your mouth, and how this food is grown.

The 7 Spiritual Laws of Gardening,

Deepak Chopra Center 7 Spiritual Laws of Gardening by Leo Carver

As the author Leo Carver mentions in his article for the Chopra Center The 7 Spiritual Laws of Gardening “The wisdom traditions of the world often refer to the oneness and transcendence one feels when interacting with nature.”

There’s been an ongoing obstructionism of peoples’ food and farmers’ seeds going on in India, as witnessed through articles like this one, The Seeds Of Suicide: How Monsanto Destroys Farming

Vandana Shiva is an Indian scholar, environmental activist and anti-globalization author who has written more than 20 books. She’s a ferociously intelligent woman who brings her economic and political insights into her speeches, in which she eloquently articulates why things are the way they are, as dictated by the economic trends of the last half of the century in capitalism and corporate greed and globalization. I witnessed her speaking this last December in Paris as a panelist during the climate talks, orchestrated by the Place to B. She has worked to promote biodiversity in agriculture. “Central to Shiva’s work is the idea of seed freedom, or the rejection of corporate patents on seeds.” Much of her work has been on educating the public about food and agriculture, as in Vandana Shiva’s Speech on Food and Agriculture Systems
In it she mentions that “fertilizers, which are toxic and poisonous, were originally designed as weapons of war…and that 6,000 chemicals are unleashed every year by these companies. She casually points out as she’s describing the terrorism of Monsanto and it’s hijacking of the seeds of Indian farmers, that “this was earlier, this was before these companies controlled governments, research at universities and before they controlled the media.” Hearing her words reminded me of what I learned viewing multiple documentaries after the Wall Street financial collapse, where it was elucidated clearly how the world’s financial systems have infiltrated educational institutions, to be proponents and perpetuators of their own system.

She talks about Monsanto ‘We Must End Monsanto’s Colonization, Its Enslavement of Farmers

and food sovereignty as does Dahlia Wasfi MD, a physician, peace and environmental activist. Waif talks about Iraq, its occupation and the experiment of Monsanto with their own chemicals and the farmers of Iraq. Wasfi talks in this video about Iraq’s seed industry and its destruction by Monsanto, who forbid them (Iraqi farmers) after 2003 to maintain their seed bank and share their seeds. What happened in India is happening currently in Iraq, with respect to Monsanto’s occupation of farmer’s seeds.

I just discovered the site Salud America, reading that the Las Cruces, New Mexico city council members were meeting on May 23, 2016, to discuss plans for expanding the local agriculture and food environment through a comprehensive Urban Agriculture and Food Policy plan developed by local non-profit La Semilla Food Center (semilla=seed). That’s good news! I presume more of this awareness and activities around urban gardening are springing up in various states.

We Do Have the Means | Living Harmoniously with the Planet | Salt-water Powered Cars

Collective Evolution’s article on salt-water generated fuel.

“It works just like a hydrogen fuel cell except that the liquid used for storing energy is saltwater.”

nanoFlowCell, SaltWater fuel conversion

nanoFlowCell SaltWater fuel conversion

“In this case the liquid (saltwater) passes through a membrane in between the two tanks, creating an electric charge. This electricity is then stored and distributed by super capacitors. The four electric motors in the car are fed electricity which makes it run. The car carries the water in two 200-litre tanks, which in one sitting will allow drivers to travel up to 373 miles (600km).

We’ve got major plans, and not just within the automobile industry. The potential of the NanoFlowcell technology and its applications is much greater, especially in terms of domestic energy supplies as well as in maritime, rail and aviation technology.

All cars should be required to be made from this type, or other similar types of clean green energy.

Scientists at the U.S Naval Research Laboratory have developed a technology to recover carbon dioxide and hydrogen from seawater and convert it into a liquid hydrocarbon fuel. This could be a tremendous breakthrough and eliminate the need for old ways of generating fuel.”

Golly gee, if the U.S. Navy can break-up from their addiction to fossil fuels, so can all of us!

U.S. Navy produces fuel from Seawater

U.S. Navy produces fuel from Seawater

Navy’s new fuel process: Extracting carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2) from seawater to produce liquid hydrocarbon fuel.

Why did they bother investigating this? Because “in Fiscal year 2011, the U.S. Navy Military Sea Lift Command, the primary supplier of fuel and oil to the U.S. Navy fleet, delivered nearly 600 million gallons of fuel to Navy vessels underway, operating 15 fleet replenishment oilers around the globe.”

“A catalytic converter extracts carbon dioxide and hydrogen from water and converts the gases into liquid hydrocarbons at a 92 percent efficiency rate, and the resulting fuel can be used in ships’ existing engines.”

Research chemist, Heather D. Willhauer, NRL

Research chemist Heather D. Willhauer NRL

“It’s remarkable how Barack Obama has constantly pointed out that we will be using oil, gas and coal for the next twenty years, and that we don’t have the technology to lift our dependence off of these resources.

Those who are looking into it can clearly see that this simply isn’t true. We have the means to live in ways that are more harmonious with the planet and all beings on it.” Not to mention, a plethora of jobs can be created to implement this at all levels.

Calling: all workers in the industries of coal, mining, petroleum… > there are other income opportunities out there!

Yes, We Can, well that is, Yes, the U.S. Navy CAN covert seawater to fuel.

We need to pull away from coal, petroleum and all other dirty, non-renewable processes and invest our insights, energies and integrity into supporting clean, renewable energies.

“It’s just another example of the many ways of generating energy that are now available that could end our dependence on fossil fuels. These new, clean green ways of generating energy have been around for decades, so why are we always talking about them without ever implementing them?”

It just so happens that those with undivided interest and ownership in coal and fossil fuel as well as their dirty derivative industries are anonymously pouring huge amounts of money into disinformation campaigns regarding Global Warming and its main culprits. This article from the Guardian talks about the secretive donors who gave US climate denial groups $125m over three years.

the Earth is not Responsible for Global Warming

The Earth is not Responsible for Global Warming – Earth has no barcode

Thomas Berry, Dreamer of the Earth: The Spiritual Ecology co-author of “The Universe Story” writes, “The natural world itself is the primary economic reality, the primary educator, the primary governance, the primary technologist, the primary healer, the primary presence of the sacred, the primary moral value“.

It is in the best interest of all – humans and all other life forms on Earth. And for financial reasons, companies and individuals who have divested their stocks and bonds in fossil fuel companies have outperformed…

This article from the Guardian points out that the real danger is not the kayaktivists, but Shell.

Why is this important? Because the beautiful and fantastic display of the diversity of life that have taken millions of years to evolve to their unique spectacular natures, is what ROCKS about our planet Earth: Living together intimately and harmoniously with the diversity of the entire biosphere is the reason and the beauty of this planet. No other reason, except for the fact that we are all related and interdependent and of this earth. Our heaven is right here on earth. It is the Earth and its myriad of life – the biosphere and the geosphere – that is sacred and needs our protection.

National Wildlife Federation What We Do Get out of Dirty Energy

“Whether it be Solar, Free Energy (zero-point), Converting Seawater, {Wind, or Wave technology}, it’s clear we can do better than we are doing now.”

Do it! – divest in dirty and invest in clean & renewable – for your kids and for all other creatures with whom we share our planet Earth.

Why bother? As the authors of “Ecobuddhism and the wisdom of the psyche – The Universe Story” unveil. “We are a communion of subjects, not a collection of objects”. Here are some excerpts from the “The Universe Story” of Brian Swimme and Thomas Berry.

“That our western civilization should be the principal cause of such extensive damage to the planet is so difficult a truth for us to absorb that our society in general is presently in a state of shock and denial, or disbelief…Our western addiction to commercial-industrial progress as our basic referent for reality and value, is becoming an all-pervasive attitude throughout the various peoples and cultures of the Earth.”

Not a neural toxin, but an attitude and understanding deficiency!

“Efforts to present the full reality of the situation are being met generally with intense opposition, an opposition due to the subservience of our religious, educational and professional establishments to our industrial culture….the Ecozoic Era requires a comprehensive human consensus away from what we’ve been brainwashed into beholding as true; i.e. Manufactured Consent – The Political Economy of the Mass Media – a non-fiction book written by by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky in 1988

¡ Reiterating! The authors of “The Universe Story” state that “The natural world itself is the primary economic reality, the primary educator, the primary governance, the primary technologist, the primary healer, the primary presence of the sacred, the primary moral value.”

My Body is Contained Within the Limitlessness of My Soul | Jim Carrey Commencement Address

Every once in a while I post the exact same blog simultaneously on each of my sites. This is one of those times. It occurs when I come across something that I feel is so profound and important, that it must be shared.

It is this! Jim Carrey’s Commencement Address to the 2014 graduating class of Maharishi University (MUM).

Jim Carey’s Secret of Life The Journey of Purpose

Jim Carey’s Secret of Life The Journey of Purpose

I’m obviously big on the subject matter of Jim Carrey’s speeches, as I’d posted a blog referencing one this past summer. https://carolkeiter.wordpress.com/2014/08/22/love-over-fear-jim-carrey-supermoon-hitchabout-lakota-sioux-secret-within/ Same-same, but different. I also recently wrote about a similar subject; matters of heart and choosing love over fear. https://digesthis.wordpress.com/2015/01/07/addendum-to-journey-in-space-time-ignited-by-matters-of-heart-epigenetics-heartmath/

Jim Carrey announces that he’s found his ministry in the Church of Freedom from Concern (FFC)

You can spend your whole life worrying about ghosts and about the path to the future.

So many of us choose our path out of fear, disguised as practicality. He mentions that his father could have been a great comedian, but he didn’t believe that it was possible for him. Instead, he took the conservative path and chose a safe job as an accountant. And ironically was sooner than later ‘let go’ by the firm. Point of the story:

You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance in doing what you love.

Carrey says I’m here to plant a seed, to help you move forward in life.

Will that seed be allowed to take root? Or will you be forced by Monsanto to use their seed? which causes knowing laughter to ripple through the audience.

Life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you. Ask the universe for it!

sunset

sunset

He goes on to say, I used to believe that who I was, ended at the edge of my skin. Then I learned that everything outside the vehicle is part of me too! We have no limits…you can’t contain the container.

How can you serve the world?

Look at what the world needs, that your talent can provide.

The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is.

Finding true peace lies beyond personality, beyond the perception of others, invention and disguise, beyond effort itself.

• To find real peace, you have to let the armor go.

• Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world.

• Don’t let anything stand in the way of the light that shines through this form!

• Risk being seen in all of your glory.

• The imagination is always manufacturing scenarios, both good and bad. The ego tries to keep you trapped in the multiplex of the mind.

• Our eyes are not merely viewers, they are also projectors, running a second story over the picture.

• Fear is writing the script; the working title “I’ll never be enough.”

• How tricky this ego is, with the promise of something, that we already possess!

• Let the universe know what you want, and work toward it, while letting go of how it comes about.

• Your job is not to figure out how it’s going to happen, but to open the door in your head. Then when the door appears in your life, just walk through it.

• Don’t worry if you miss your cue, there are always doors opening.

Take a chance on faith. Not religion, but faith. Not hope, but faith.
He says I don’t believe in hope. Hope is a beggar.

Hope walks through the fire and faith leaps over it.

CBD does not kill cancer cells it loves them into a healthy state

It’s about the successful cancer treatment of a grade 3 brain tumor, after radiation and chemotherapy failed. The cure is through an ingredient in cannabis, called cannabidiol (CBD). It is one of at least 85 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is taken orally, administered as a liquid CBD tincture.

“Quantum healing / Quantum thinking. Working on the emotional,

to heal the physical.”

I told myself I must communicate this. Yet, it remained on the back burner, until recently. I was informed of an acquaintance’s debilitating illness, a cancer. His eloquent personal blog informing people about what he was going through lead me adroitly to two resolves;

1. to not put off ANYthing 2. to put this blog out there, because it may save lives!

Perhaps I put it off because it’s still considered illegal in many states in the USA. Puts a bit of a damper on openly communicating about it. Its drug classification is elucidated here. I’m not interested so much in the legality, but in its proven effectiveness in eradicating illnesses as well as their debilitating symptoms…so that it allows people to adapt and live and in fact, become healthy. Oddly, it is still ranked among far more addictive and potentially lethal drugs.

Cannabis has been on the airwaves and print media across the United States much more recently, because of its decriminalization in several states. This has lead to a slew of documentaries and articles, recognizing its medicinal qualities, specifically calling it ‘medical marijuana‘.

I’ve seen several cable TV specials and read a number of articles focusing on the effectiveness of cannabis in curing or severely reducing the symptoms of a multiplicity of illnesses, from epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, cancer, brain tumors to (PTSD) post traumatic stress disorder. One person who has been more vocal recently is CNN’s chief medical correspondent who is a practicing neurosurgeon, Sanjay Gupta M.D. He touted one point of view, and then after studying it and recognizing unequivocally its benefits, changed his mind. You can read and listen to his new point of view here. “Why I Changed My Mind On Weed” By Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN Chief Medical Correspondent.

This article explains more. Cannabidiol (CBD): Fighting Inflammation & Aggressive Forms of Cancer

Cannabis contains at least 60 known chemicals called cannabinoids, which activate naturally occurring cannabinoid receptors in your body. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main component responsible for the psychoactive effects, or high cannabis is known for. Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second most abundant cannabinoid in cannabis. Research done by G.W. Pharmaceuticals suggests that CBD could be used for treating symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases, diabetes, nausea, bowel disorders, and many other hard-to-control side effects. According to an article from Projectcbd.com, CBD has even demonstrated neuroprotective effects, and its anti-cancer potential is currently being explored.

There are at least two active chemicals in marijuana that researchers think have medicinal application. Those are cannabidiol (CBD) — which seems to impact the brain without a high— and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) — which has pain relieving properties.
