Humans cannot continue to violate the fundamental laws of nature or science with impunity, say 94 signatories.

Humanity is ‘cutting down the tree of life’, warn scientists, written by the Environment editor Damian Carrington.

“More than 300 mammal species have been eradicated by human activities, say researchers.”

It is 12 years since former US vice president Al Gore made his presentation about the threat of global warming. His presentation An Inconvenient Truth appears to have raised awareness, yet without any coordinated trans-government, international response.

Fracking booms on public lands under Trump is stressed by the energy news writer Dan Haugen.

“OIL & GAS: The Trump administration auctions off millions of public lands for oil and gas development, with leased acreage reaching its highest point since the 2012 fracking boom. (New York Times)”

I currently reside in the USA. One of my favorite authors is George Monbiot, because of his thoroughness and honesty. Monbiot recently wrote Rebelling Against Extinction published in the Guardian October 17th, 2018″, in which he mentions he will speak at the launch of Extinction Rebellion in Parliament Square On October 31st.

Why are they talking about this? Because with the exception of the non-action or denial from many government leaders, scientists worldwide have been issuing a warning.

When governments abandon us, we must step up.

$ Exxon’s Knew about Global Warming in 70’s $ Covered It up to Continue Their Exploits $

350.org just sent out a post to facilitate taking action and telling your elected leaders to hold Exxon accountable. “Two Harvard researchers just published a peer-reviewed study showing that Exxon knew about global warming as early as the 1970s but funded an aggressive misinformation campaign to delay any climate action.” The study is a systematic documentation of ExCon‘s coverup.

This knowing desecration, with conscious intent, is despicable!

Here’s an article on Vox, updated by David Roberts.Exxon researched climate science. Understood it. And misled the public.

Exxon’s denigration of resources and planetary health, oil leaking and spoiling the planet. Exxon has blood on their hands.

Hold Exxon accountable. Tell your State’s Attorney General: Investigate Exxon.

We have thousands of young men of color in jail because of stupid things, jailed, beaten, killed, and immigrants, people of color, rounded up to be deported, who are in fact hard working, and merely want to work.

In the meantime, these rich white men in suits are getting away with murder, cultural genocide, destruction of habitat, pollution of resources, precipitating the extinction of creatures who were here before humans, and precariously putting the balance of life on the planet at risk.

IT IS TIME TO CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS. THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES TO OIL. THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES TO WAR AND THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX THAT IS CHOOSING WHAT INFORMATION WE RECEIVE AND WHAT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS ARE ELECTED.

Hold Exxon accountable. Tell your State’s Attorney General: Investigate Exxon.

I thank all of the environmental, social, ecological groups who serve as watch dogs and educate the rest of us, but somehow, i think something much more brilliant has to take place to begin lighting up the whole world to working together. If we are the people – in a Democracy – choosing our leaders, then we should have the military industrial complex working with us, not in militarized suits, against us. Naturally, this last sentence, makes no sense, as people meeting together one-on-one, and working together in pleasant conditions side-by-side, will be smiling, not firing, at one another.

“The Yes Men” and the “House of Yes”

In case you haven’t heard of the Yes Men, they are culture jamming political activists with a theatrical leaning. They create through their own wit, wits and resourcefulness, ways to actually embed themselves among their enemies – the corporate giants – to influence them to acknowledge their greedy and inhumanitarian ways and ultimately atone for their victims…http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Yes_Men

Here’s a movie they’ve just released http://theyesmenfixtheworld.com/

They have nothing to do with (I mistakingly at first thought the two were connected !!) the House of Yes,
an East Williamsburg Brooklyn, New York based performance art space founded by Anya Sapozhnikova and Kae Burke, where anyone, almost, can host their own events.

And an article was written about an interview with the founders, here.
