Some more Insights on the Corporate Greed Abuses behind the Gulf Oil Crisis

What is scary, is that Amy Goodman informs that President Obama had two weeks ago, authorized drilling of oil in the waters off the coast of Alaska as well as in the Gulf of Mexico, opening up these areas to drilling for oil for the first time

Exporting a Dream is Serious Business by Carol Keiter

I’ve just come across more pictures and links, referencing some of the subject matter of this article I wrote and posted in the beginning weeks of my blog, and decided to re-post it.

We are at an unparalleled place in history; teetering between wars, overpopulation, a chaotic growth of unbridled materialism and climate disaster. The United States has been one of the forerunners in dispensing this  paradigm of disinformation to the public – 'to buy or not to buy' – achieved through the apparatus of the media and Hollywood, in synch with profit driven private capital.  The acquired collective response is the  unquenchable desir … Read More

In terms of Politics: Separation of Oil & State

http://act.credoaction.com/campaign/five_bold_steps/?rc=share_email

Dipping low enough to exert momentum for change…

I actually didn’t hear the presidents’ speech, but trust in the opinion of the need of a separation of Oil & State. I believe that just as there is an intertwining and interdependency within all of life in our natural world, that it is also true in the human social and political world. One can’t expect or anticipate too much as far as one bold leader acting independently, when in fact the pulse behind his motions are charged through those who have been pulling the strings to even get him into office, and who overrule with their corporate/big business pull, just what any leader can do. I also believe that the face of this lopsidedness in terms of power, could in fact be changing, and is changing. As the internet introduces more information that can be spread to the masses, more people can participate in acquiring information, making their voices heard, and we are heading towards more and more transparency and true democratic participation….we’ll see however. Wars have been waged despite the fact that much of the populace demonstrated against them, and well, sometimes things have to dip into the worse case scenario, for people to get the momentum started to begin to change. case in point, my last relationship. i had to literally get hit and abandoned, before i took the hint and read between the lines, even though the words and gestures of my partner expressed that he didn’t give a shit and in fact often acted with cruelty. i didn’t want to see this however, i still wanted to believe that there would be a day that he would embrace and love me, until he finally just left me helpless at a place, with full contempt. ha! it was the most wonderful of blessings, i learned through the synchronicity of people whom i met and conversations that i had, not only about the rich history of the place where i’d been discarded, but also that in fact everything that this former partner projected at me and accused me of, were in fact false. I realized that I was in fact like the sun, being soiled and obscured by something fouling and thickening the air, darkening its’ blaze.

More Crude Awakenings re: Corporate Slime & Bankers’ Greed sleeping with the Government & the BP | Halliburton Gulf Oil Disaster

http://rawstory.com/rs/2010/0513/gulf-oil-gusher-ten-times-worse-prior-estimates/

This letter written by Martin Luckett to my friend, who authorized spreading the information around.

“When this thing blew up, BP told us it was 500 barrels a day, now we know 26 days later they had a video that Obama made them release, showing tens of thousands per hour. Now they are estimating it’s the equivalent of one Exxon/Valdez spill every four days! And they admitted to Congress they knew the blowout preventer had a dead battery and could not do the job if called on.

I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to place some blame here. Those energy state Texas shitheads Bush and Cheney relaxed all the safety regulations the last decade, let the Kenny Boy’s of Enron game the markets, staffed the Fed Minerals and Resources with idiots who literally, literally slept and snorted coke with employees from the oil companies. And, oh, I’m gonna die from surprise, the same company that got billions in no-bid contracts to build infrastructure in Iraq that featured showers that were electrocuting the soldiers, was in charge of laying the concrete to seal the well, and was confirmed to have failed a test 22 hours before the explosion. This company is Halliburton.

This situation is a CLUSTER FUCK. The world economy is FUCKED, Europe is FUCKED, California is FUCKED, Goldman Sachs FUCKED Europe by allowing Greece to massively borrow to stage the ’04 Olympics without anyone knowing it was Greece doing the borrowing, something they never would have done if they knew Greece was the borrower…Goldman Sachs were the shitheads behind the first Big Depression, allowing simple investors to buy stock with only 10% down, so when the margin calls came they were wiped out. It was Reagan who repealed all the laws on the books that came about to stop another crash, and immediately we get the Savings and Loan debacle, the Junk Bonds crash, the Internet Bubble crash, and now the Housing Market Wall St. crash.

I’m sorry…feel free to plagiarize the shit out of this, clean it up if you have to, Tell Bob to put this in his pipe and smoke it.”

Amy Goodman’s Look Into the Corroded Politics beneath the BP Oil-Ill Calamity in the Gulf

This link to Amy Goodman’s “Democracy Now” broadcast, reveals detailed information about not only the 20,000 square mile oil slick caused by the BP oil well leak casualty, in which the oil continues to bubble up from its’ source at 5,000 barrels per day, but also about the politics gushing to the surface.

http://www.democracynow.org/2010/4/30/spewing_5_000_barrels_of_oil

What’s disturbing, was hearing in her report that President Obama had two weeks ago authorized a plan for a vast expansion in oil drilling, opening up large areas in the Atlantic as well as off the coast of Alaska, for the first time in decades. Uh, did I hear this correctly? There had been a 27 year moratorium against off shore drilling and Obama just wooshed it into non-existance? Now I flash back to when I was exhilarated hearing Barrack speaking before an excited crowd in Berlin, Germany two summers ago, and shocked when he mentioned something about maintaining a military presence in Afghanistan…I thought, did he really just say that? Is this the President elect who stated firmly that he’s against war?

And now I’m thinking about the bank bailout, and wondering, is it perhaps true what Eva Morales of Bolivia stated in a previous interview on Democracy Now. Regarding whether he sees a difference between Bush’s presidency and that of Obama’s, he retorted, “only their skin color is different.”

Now I really don’t want to point the finger at Barack Obama, as I’ve always felt intuitively that he genuinely does want to empower people and make massive positive changes. And I always felt that he spoke from the heart, that he means what he says and has integrity…did.

What I do believe, is that for him to have gotten to where he is, and to maintain his position, that he has to do an enormous amount of bending-over, to the corporate globalized powers that be, who continue to throttle and persuade and bottleneck any wayward opinions from their vision and path of ascendancy. However a downward spiral of reckless fallout is what appears to be sneaking into our faces.

What can we do about this? I guess it’s a matter of willingness to listen and understand what is going on, and then to let our voices be heard – through whatever means – individually or through joining with groups mobilizing to simultaneously inform us and give us a voice. Specifically, we all need to take actions, which reflect being clear and knowledgeable about the repercussions of whatever we do, what we purchase and the activities we participate in. Whatever sort of ‘direct action’ we can make, towards responsibly making our voices heard and changing our habits, towards supporting more environmentally sustainable practices, are examples for others to follow as well.

Happy Earth Day | Critical Beats |Chopra’s “Book of Secrets”

Hi there y’all!

In between the time that I’m trying to figure out how to fit into this world with the talents & interests that I have and what I like to do ‘-)… I also am searching…and came upon this, and I like it. Excerpts from Deepak Chopra’s “The Book of Secrets”.

http://www.spiritsite.com/writing/deecho/part40.shtml

Also, in the last couple days I opened an email and saw that DJ Spooky was hosting a contest to produce a song, incorporating sounds from Native American Indians of the Amazon. They provided recorded songs within their library, to which “we” create a song from a remix – in 24 hours. I did this, and realized I hadn’t really finely tuned my edits, cuz I hadn’t had enough time. And then they just announced this morning that they will extend it! yeah! so I’m about to dive back into the music software and hardware to polish what I had put together already. It’s called Critical Beats for the Climate!

Here is my song entry “Spirit_Of_Life_Beats” – remix of Indian Tribal songs, after a one day extension from the 1st deadline ‘-) Hey, it’s a little dark, but grave are the critical beats for our climate!

The first song on myspace http://www.myspace.com/nomadbeatz

And here are some highlights from “The Book of Secrets”:

“The greatest hunger in life is not for food, money, success, status, security, sex, or even love from the opposite sex.

The deepest hunger in life is a secret that is revealed only when a person is willing to unlock a hidden part of the self.

We live in the Age of the Higher Brain, the cerebral cortex that has grown enormously over the last few millennia, overshadowing the ancient, instinctive lower brain.

Ultimately you have to believe that your life is worth investigating with total passion and commitment. It took thousands of tiny decisions to keep the book of secrets closed, but it takes only a single moment to open it again.

I take it literally when the New Testament says, “Ask and you will receive, knock and the door will be opened.” It’s that simple. You will know every secret about life when you can truly say I must know.

The life you know is a thin layer of events covering a deeper reality. In the deeper reality, you are part of every event that is happening now, has ever happened, or ever will happen. In the deeper reality, you know absolutely who you are and what your purpose is. There is no confusion or conflict with any other person on earth. Your purpose in life is to help creation to expand and grow. When you look at yourself, you see only love.

Ever since you and I were born, we’ve had a constant stream of clues hinting at another world inside ourselves.

The body’s wisdom is a good entry point into the hidden dimensions of life, because although completely invisible, the body’s wisdom is undeniably real — a fact that medical researchers began to accept in the mid-1980s.

Signs of intelligence began to be discovered in the immune system, and then in the digestive system…Ten years ago, it would have seemed absurd to speak of intestines being intelligent… Now it turns out that the intestines are not so lowly after all. Their scattered nerve cells form a finely tuned system for reacting to outside events — an upsetting remark at work, the threat of danger, a death in the family. The stomach’s reactions are just as reliable as the brain’s thoughts, and just as intricate. Your colon, your liver, and your stomach cells also think, only not in the brain’s verbal language. What people had been calling a “gut reaction” turned out to be a mere hint of the complex intelligence at work in a hundred thousand billion cells.”

“Home” a film by Yann Arthus-Betrand

Home is about earth’s delicate balance of life, and how Homo sapiens’ have dramatically tilted this balance in just the last 60 years.

Home, film,Yann Arthus-Betran

Home film by Yann Arthus-Betran

“In just the 200,000 years since arriving on earth, humanity has upset the balance of the planet, established by nearly four billion years of evolution. The price to pay is high, but it’s not too late to be a pessimist: humanity has barely ten years to reverse the trend, become aware of the full extent of its spoiliation of the Earth’s riches and change its patterns of consumption.”

This Koyaanisqatsi-like documentary film introduces us to our home, Earth, in a condensed history of the origins of life, showing us how inextricably connected all of the systems on Earth are; from the atmosphere, to the water bodies, soil and all of the vegetation and species. With lovely aerial images sweeping across different continents, it tells the stories of different species and particularly, in the various stages of human development, how humanity has depleted resources and radically tilted the planets’ balance, in just the last 60 years. It states that we have no choice but to have hope, recommending renewable energy and sustainable development practices among other tactics that we, the wise animals, Homo Sapiens, can employ, as we become accountable and begin taking actions to reverse this process.

“The Future of Food” & Halliburton’s Globalization Chess Game

I just saw this informative film “The Future of Food”, with attention raising inferences to genetic engineering. But even more disturbing were the scary insights into the company Halliburton, this time playing under the guise of an agricultural giant. In this role, they have been involved in not only manufacturing pesticides, but also the genetic engineering of seeds and a reign of terror over small farmers’, accusing them of stealing their patented seeds and trying to force them to destroy their own generationally cultured seed banks – a blatant attempt to monopolize the agriculture industry.
http://www.thefutureoffood.com/

“Halliburton’s major business segment is the Energy Services Group (ESG). ESG provides technical products and services for petroleum and natural gas exploration and production.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halliburton
This role is probably why, with Iraq’s oil reserves, they had big interest in nudging the American public into getting involved in a war with Iraq in the first place. However, they also managed to profit from America’s involvement in the destruction which has taken place there, performing in their role as ‘private military contractors’. “In the latest in the long line of corporate scandals involving the Bush Administration, Halliburton, the energy giant formerly run and still largely influenced and controlled by Vice-President Dick Cheney (the former Chairman and CEO), has announced that it will repay the US government over $27.4 million after it was discovered that it had grossly overcharged for the meals it supplies to the US military in Iraq.” The overcharging discovery involves Kellog, Brown & Root, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Halliburton. In a controversial “no-bid” contract, KBR was awarded a total of $8 billion to provide laundry, food supply, and build bases for the US military in Iraq. ”
http://www.socialistappeal.org/usa/halliburton_scandal.html

“In one of the many examples of abuse, Greenhouse said that military auditors caught Halliburton overcharging the Pentagon for fuel deliveries into Iraq. She also complained that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s office took control of every aspect of Halliburton’s $7 billion Iraqi oil/infrastructure contract.” “Cheney retired from the company during the 2000 U.S. presidential election campaign with a severance package worth $36 million. ”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halliburton#Involvement_in_the_Iraq_war

“In the early 1990s Halliburton was found to be in violation of federal trade barriers in Iraq and Libya, having sold these countries dual-use oil drilling equipment and, through its former subsidiary, Halliburton Logging Services, sending six pulse neutron generators to Libya. After having pleaded guilty, the company was fined $1.2 million, with another $2.61 million in penalties.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halliburton#Involvement_in_the_Iraq_warAfter

“Halliburton has its headquarters in the North Belt office in Houston, Texas, and in offices in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (opened March, 2007) where Chairman and CEO David J. Lesar works and resides.” http://www.socialistappeal.org/usa/halliburton_scandal.html

One can’t help thinking that perhaps it was yet another business deal gone awry or more ethical misconduct by Halliburton that lead to the September 11th, 2001 attacks on the United States. “The hijackers responsible for 9/11 were not illiterate, bearded fanatics from Afghanistan. They were all educated, highly skilled, middle-class professionals. Of the 19 men involved, 13 were citizens of Saudi Arabia.
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article4582.htm

“Osama bin Laden is believed to be the 17th child of Mohammed bin Laden (1908 – September 3, 1967), a Yemeni immigrant to Saudi Arabia who was a wealthy investor, businessman and patriarch of the bin Laden family.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammed_bin_Awad_bin_Laden

“The involvement between Halliburton and the Saudi Arabian company, owned by the father of Osama bin Laden, “The Bin-Laden Group”, has existed for years. “What should make us all feel insecure about our newfound homeland security is that Dick Cheney’s old company, Halliburton, bought H.C. Price Company (now called Bredero-Shaw http://www.bredero-shaw), a Texas-based oil company that supplies anti-corrosion coatings for oil pipelines and is a joint partner of the Saudi Bin-Laden Group http://www.sbg.com.sa, a construction company that is owned by the
Bin-Laden family and builds crude-oil pipelines.”

“Logic would indicate that the Bin-Laden Group has the heavy equipment in the region near Afghanistan that would facilitate the building of the pipeline through Afghanistan. And, Halliburton–Cheney’s old oil-drilling company–can drill for the oil that is to be fed through the pipeline.”….”Bush had appointed a former advisor to Unocal (an oil company that builds oil and gas pipelines) as the U.S. envoy to Afghanistan.”
http://elandslide.org/view.cfm?id=6458

“Halliburton is the only company mentioned by Osama bin Laden in an April 2004 tape in which he claims that “this is a war [in Afghanistan] that is benefiting major companies with billions of dollars.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halliburton

“The Future of Food” reveals Halliburtons’ slimy corporate practices and proposes questions concerning the implications of the practice of genetically modifying food. My subsequent mini investigation of the big H, reveals the lack of transparency of Halliburton’s intentions; strategically playing an international chess game with board-room inbreeding practices and calls for war, in the name of profit. Various members of its’ board have bounced back and forth to seats in various US government regulatory agencies such as the EPA and US Dept of Agriculture…to ‘police’/watch-dog the same companies with whom they had been imbedded!!

For more information of Halliburton and their corporate practices visit http://www.halliburtonwatch.org.
