Sustainability | David Suzuki | Creative Consciousness | Same Name, but Different

March 8, 2016 1 Comment

Sustainability is what David Suzuki is all about. The David Suzuki Foundation is dedicated to protecting the diversity of nature and inspiring Canadians to act with nature in mind.

David Suzuki Foundation - Small steps make a big difference on the path to living more sustainably.

David Suzuki, environment is not out there, separate from us, environment embedded within

David Suzuki There is no environment – out there -separate from us. The environment is embedded in us.

In his article Energy storage gives renewables a jump-start, Suzuki writes, “it’s easy to see that barriers to a clean-energy shift are more political and psychological than technological.”

“Small steps make a big difference on the path to living more sustainably. The David Suzuki Foundation will show you how to transform your home, office and community into a healthy and sustainable one. From everyday green living tips to helpful resources on fighting climate change, we can help you make informed decisions to reduce your environmental footprint.”

By the way, David Suzuki is the father of the young Severn Suzuki, who at 12 years old, formed the Environmental Children’s Organization ECO and challenged the world dignitaries attending the Earth Climate Summit in Rio in 1992, to make their actions reflect their words. It was while writing about her in my blog that I learned about her father. https://carolkeiter.wordpress.com/2016/03/08/future-generations-sorry-prince-ea-stand-for-trees-severn-suzuki-anjali-appadurai/

Speaking of sustainability, today this arrived in my inbox.

Creative Consciousness, Sustainability. Freedom

Creative Consciousness Sustainability and Freedom for the Masses

“Creative Consciousness was created as a means of aligning with like minded artists from all over the world to share their views on the struggle of the average human, battling against the western corporate monopoly and how opportunities of freedom and sustainability could be just around the corner, should people choose to stand up for the rights of themselves and others.

Each collaboration is produced and co written by “Creative Consciousness” whom takes on the musical influences of the culture and country which he is collaborating with, whilst allowing the indigenous artists of this region to share their views on such topics in their own native tongue.”

I’m all over what they stand for, their message, and listened a bit to their music. They mention “Our debut released track titled “We Gotta Get Up! (They Gotta Stand Down!) is a collaborative journey at the epicenter of corporate greed and western infrastructure, the USA. This symbolic release had just hit Spotify on February 20 which was actually International Social Justice Day.

I noticed that the creative consciousness that floated into my inbox was “dot co”, which lead me to discovering that a “dot com” creative consciousness exists.

They are completely different entities, though each have themes of freedom, authenticity, empowerment, justice and sustainability – in terms of communities and cultural cooperation.

Ahh, I learn of a slight twist, Creative Consciousness International (CCI) was established in 1991 by Marc Sternberg, spinning out of the (ICF), International Coach Federation.
“Creative Consciousness and Consciousness Coaching®; designing and delivering leading-edge empowerment that enables individuals and organizations to achieve authentic and sustainable shifts in power, freedom and competences.”

Fascism, Racism and Environmental Injustice ~ Naomi Klein

Basically, I looked at Naomi Klein’s facebook page posts, and decided to share the information. Shamelessly, judiciously; regarding fascism, racism and environmental injustice. The text below accompanying the article on the need to abolish fascism, I was unable to select/copy/past the text on Chrome or Safari on my iPad, so I typed it in order […]

Migratory Birds of the Bosque | Rio Grande River in New Mexico

I hadn’t realized having just moved to Albuquerque for the first time on December 1st, and living a quarter mile (several hundred yards) from the Rio Grande, that the birds that I became so fascinated with that I bicycled every evening before sunset to hang out at a number of different spots on the river […]

Give the gift of Half-Earth | E.O. Wilson

The dream of EO Wilson can only be realized through the participation of humans. He strives to protect the most biodiverse places on the earth and seas, to circumvent mass extinction – which is already taking place – by safeguarding the habitats of half of the earth. See how you can become involved! Be a […]

A Story about the Intelligence of Other Sentient Beings | BirdBrains

My sister told me this story today over the phone, when I mentioned that I come to this one spot to watch and count the birds that hang out always on the same wire at the same location, above this bridge. Oh, I get it, maybe people have thrown food over it at one time, […]

Arundhati Roy’s Powerful Speech about Power ‘Come September’ multiple 911’s

“Nuclear weapons are stockpiled, to make the world a safer place.” I am profoundly moved and awakened, each time that I’ve listened to Arundhati Roy’s ‘Come September’ speech which she boldy presented at the Lannan Foundation in Santa Fe, New Mexico 2002, in which she states “Nuclear weapons are stockpiled, to make the world a […]

Thanks for the inspiration AOC > Let Fear Impassion

nov 10  11.10 Looking back through the postings and comments in my Facebook posts, since I’ve been extremely preoccupied in addition to the election that was coming up, with the fact that I was continually uprooted from promises of housing that never took root. Now, listening to this video for the first time, having scrolled […]

Across the country, mt. bike accompanying. Arrival, Santa Fe, New Mexico Listened to a Dream

My mt. bike has accompanied me, crossing the country in rental cars and boxed on a plane, to different workaway (work/exchange) gigs. However, the word, deed and whims of workaway hosts, weren’t working. I’ve been asked to leave again by a woman alcoholic who grabbed my first and last month’s rent and then unleashed a […]

We Need an Evolution feat. Dr. Zach Bush and Arundhati Roy

Because of how completely surprised and delighted I am with the content of these two people’s talks and writing, I felt the need to hastily put these out on both blogs simultaneously, to broadcast this information. I certainly hope that people who do not speak English as a native language,  can find someone to translate. […]

Clean Drinking Water feat Primo Self-Service Water Refill at Walmart

Well, the water smells ‘funny’, like noxious, not a joke, coming from the tap in the apt complex where I just moved in Statesboro, Georgia, USA. It has a sulfur smell. I googled Statesboro’s water quality and found this article which talks about some serious contaminants. I immediately went on alert to find a solution, […]

Hindu Age of Kali Yuga > Chinese 2021 Year of the Ox

I just visited with my Pennsylvania hometown friend Chris Erb in Taos, New Mexico over Christmas. One thing Chris mentioned was that we’re in the age, according to Hindus, of the “Kali Yuga”.  Among all that glistens, we are in a sort of dark ages, that lasts for uh, 432,000 years, from 3102 BCE. That’s […]

Across the country, mt. bike accompanying. Arrival, Santa Fe, New Mexico – Housing – Listened to a Dream

I arrived. Santa Fe, New Mexico, listening to a dream I had the day before I left Palo Alto, California. Ironically, first I found a place nearby many of the […]

Roasting as a Delicious Alternative – When you have only one pan.
