What you Don’t Know Can Hurt You

What You Don’t Know, Can Hurt You; therefore it’s imperative to read between the lies.
Knowledge is Power
George Monbiot, who consistently extends the risk to actually speak the truth about the environment, and specifically the political and financial obstacles that block change, just wrote this article. Don’t Look Now
Monbiot is bemused that we talk of climate change in such benign terms, when in fact we should be talking about climate breakdown or in my sounds climactic breaks.
George Monbiot writes that “The media avoids the subject of climate breakdown – to do otherwise is to bring the entire infrastructure of thought crashing down.”
Batman: Hitting the earth up like a Piñata, for profit. In this case petroleum, with the resultant climate destruction.
The What The Health documentary film is about the collusion of industries in their misinformation of the public about diet and health, due to profit motives. The industries which use the land’s resources precipitously to maintain the beef, pork and dairy industries, are in fact the same industries which sponsor various American government health organizations, who subsequently toe the line of their sponsors, and withhold the truth. Instead they tout that beef and dairy are good, that there’s no conclusive evidence that diet has AnYThinG to do with health and dis ease, when in fact what you eat has EveRyThinG to do with health of humans, the obvious inhumane and devastating toll on the livestock and the health of the planet’s ecosystems and climate.
Here’s the trailer of the “What The Health” documentary with English Subtitles. Wow, are the filmmakers ever clearly laying out the truth!
Medical Symbol Caduceus
It appears that a number of the top go-to organizations in the United States whose goal is to eradicate the population’s biggest medical threats – cancer and diabetes – are not following the Hippocratic Oath “In its original form, it requires a new physician to swear, by a number of healing gods, to uphold specific ethical standards.” Rather, they appear to be swayed by ‘corpocrisy’ (my made-up word combining corporate and hypocrisy).
I hadn’t included among the top medical threats ‘climate destruction’, of which the actions of the meat, fish, petroleum and pharmaceutical industries are antecedent and causal, with clear subsequent deleterious results.
As revealed from What the Health, The sponsors of the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association are the meat and dairy as well as pharmaceutical industries. Their message promotes misinformation about food and diet. Rather than finding the cause of the diseases they purport they wish to cure, they are towing the line of their sponsors. In our consumer oriented capitalism paradigm where corporate profit-driven motives rule, buying = profit. Consumer purchasing is the motif which bleeds of hypocrisy. As What the Health discloses, the biggest sponsors of several American health organizations are the very industries that most impact the climate, and the health of population. These meat and dairy industries sway their message dramatically away from the truth about diet, with the intent to mislead the public.
The What The Health documentary drives at how an entire population is mislead, by the health organizations themselves, in collusion with the government and the meat and derry industries. The filmmakers in their relentless research, ultimately uncover that the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association promote ‘diets’ on their websites which feature the very foods that cause the diseases which they purport their aim is to cure. As they press further, they discover that the biggest sponsors for these top government health agencies are the industries selling the food, that causes the very illness they aim to study. And the recipes they display on their websites espouse what will profit their sponsors.
The role of the pharmaceutical industry, which reaps in trillions of dollars, is not to eradicate or prevent the illness, but to treat the symptoms with and endless cocktail of pills. These little fixes keep the patients’ sick enough, to continue to adhere to taking their prescribed medications.
The messages of the medical societies who toe the line of their sponsors, the – meat, derry and pharmaceutical industries – assure continued profits for doctors, the healthcare profession, hospitals and the cattle, pig, fish and agricultural industries which support these as well as the pharmaceutical companies who bank on illness, not health.
Among the facts the film discloses, is the risks of processed meat and further on dairy, linked to cancer and diabetes.
The film is a sequel to “Cowspiracy”, which was created by the same people; filmmaker Kip Andersen and videographer Keegan Kuhn. With the backing of producer Joaquin Phoenix, this documentary allows the viewer to penetrate a number of degrees further into the looking glass.
Cowspiracy points out the caustic environmental effects of the agricultural feedstock, livestock and dairy industries. “The amount of water, land and fuel used for differing diets varies greatly…Taking into consideration that 1lb of beef requires upwards of 2500 gallons of water to produce compared to only 25 gallons for 1lb of wheat, the water footprint of a person consuming a high meat diet could be 100x greater than that of a person consuming only plant foods.”
We’ve perhaps overused the word conspiracy to the point that it becomes a benign term referring to ideas that should be dismissed because they are awash in backwash and hogwash. However, when looking at its true definition, conspiracy refers to a “treacherous or surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons”.

A number of years ago I jumped out of my seat with excitement when an in-depth news reporting tv show “60 Minutes”, featured a story about Tulane University as the first medical school in the United States to offer mandatory cooking classes for first year medical students. Recognizing that good nutrition and diet is absolutely relevant to health, they figured that teaching medical students about food, nutrition and cooking, will allow them to authentically educate and inform their patients.
Former Vice President Al Gore attempted to educate the public 20 + years ago with his documentary entitled the Inconvenient Truth. Post the COP21 in Paris and attempts to reach an accord about the Climate, he released more recently, An Inconvenient Sequel.
His sequel just came out.
Many, many social, environmental and political activist groups along with world environmental and animal organizations continually use their talents and research to inform the public. What we need now are a buildup of CCC’s, Climate Crisis Cooperatives. People working together in all different capacities to grow local, buy local, and work towards renewable energy and transport.

Changing one’s diet away from ingesting meat and dairy with its inherent carcinogenic properties, can effectively reduce weight, diminish fat levels in the blood (lower cholesterol) and give people the chance to reduce to completely alleviate the need to take any pill at all.

The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine at Tulane University, New Orleans is the first dedicated teaching kitchen to be implemented at a medical school.
The subject of Culinary Medicine has since been evolving.
Other schools have since followed. Culinary Medicine: Teaching the importance of nutrition in medical school Wow, this is an article about Penn State University jointly with the Hershey Medical Center, which are in the vicinity of my home town in Pennsylvania, cool.
As mentioned in a former blog, https://digesthis.wordpress.com/2015/10/27/health-stretching-exercising-the-body-and-mind-farmacy/, a medical doctor, Dr. Weiss, stopped his practice to create a ‘farmacy’ cooperative in the state of New Jersey.

In other words, the healthiest way to go by far, is to eat a vegetarian, and particularly vegan diet (meat minus dairy). This in itself will clear up a person’s ‘system’ so that they go to the source of the problem (the inflammation coming from eating the wrong stuff (meat and dairy) and then not having to take a cocktail of pills, which never go after the source, but sort of stabilize the illness, and payments, indefinitely.

The best advice that keeps reappearing, is to continue to think globally and act locally. The more people use their own hands, words and mouths to grow locally and buy locally, and educate themselves through actively engaging in experimental actions and changing their diets and habits towards healthy ones, the more we will adaptively change our lives to exist in harmony with our earth and its creatures.
